Kryptonite

Do you know? The nights won't let me sleep these days.
And I feel the 3 AMs gushing through me.
With my head lost in you,
My eyes caught up in stasis, unblinked.
Do you see? the madness has faded,
And my love's as sober as the wind untangling your hair.
My coffee mug is still stained with your lipstick,
And my t-shirt still smells of you.
Maybe I loved you so deep that it scarred you under your skin,
But you were not the only one to bleed.

Remember when I told you

"I've got a noose around my neck,
Will you kick the chair?
Stone made Clark only weak,
Lois made him human."

I don't love you that way anymore..

But can you tell me if not love then,
What could be the kryptonite to us.
To stop us when we destroy everything we are.

One thing I've learnt is that love sets you free,
And free is sometimes synonymous with incomplete,
Now words are all I've left with me,
But without you it's never poetry.
