In spite of the darkness that overwhelmed the whole room and tried to invade her mind, everything seemed familiar; the perfume, the Mahler's quartet in A minor, the delirious rhythm that seemed to be of a song she knew, a song she used to sing!
This memory-awaking harmony was interrupted by a monotonous sound of footsteps approaching her tied body. She could discern a man walking towards her, but his face was vague. Suddenly, -and as he stood right before her- his knees gave to the ground accompanied by the clank of a shining blade she could discern through the dark, and for a moment she tried to grasp but she never knew whether he was crying or not, until he raised his head just to see her staring at him deplorably.
The memories were lashing her feelings, slaying them and even dancing with their headless corpses. This carnage -whether in her mind or soul- crucified her tongue to rocks afar in the ocean, and the trembling heart did fix her eyes; for they could see but her mind refused to believe.
While she was trying hard to set the words free, she could feel a warm liquid trickling down her neck.. Blood?! Maybe..!
"It's an old wound reopening"
His words came out bleat and cold. He resumed:
"You've tens of them all over your body but you can't feel them right now"
She flinched many times before she could finally talk:
"But... Why?!"
Her voice came out sporadic and uneven. She paused to feel nothing while he hold her head with both of his hands gazing through her eyes to scrutinize her depths until she could resume painfully:
"You said you'd forgiven.. everything"
He could not contain his voice while bursting spasmodically:
"No, I didn't"
An unjustified pause he gave to collect whatever he had strewed, so he stood up and picked up the razor which reopened every single wound in her body so that she feels the pain and let his tears pass her by, and she did, but not a scream could escape her throat.
On his knees he fell again, and so his voice that came out moistened by the residues of his tears:
"I said that there was nothing to forgive. I said that Forgiveness isn't a word we share. I said that your heart whether it's mine or not is nothing but my reason... My life. I lied"
And then, there was nothing but Mahler's music that echoed through the universe dancing with the overwhelming darkness.
