Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, a girl named Little Red Riding Hood forgot her mother's warnings and decided that befriending a wolf, letting him in, was all she needed to make her journey a little bit less boring. 

And so, she died.

People will tell you to be careful with whom you give her heart to but what they forget to tell you is that you will have a damn hard time to determine which people are actually wolves and which ones are the hunters. Most angels are dressed in battle scars which makes them too scary, while some demons re clad in expensive clothes and shiny designer shoes.

She smiled at him with all the naivety in her heart, hanging on her sleeves. She looked at the wolf and all she could think about was how he would be worth talking to while she walks to her Grandmother's house. She had that trust in people so pure that once she gives it, she does it wholeheartedly. But then, she was wrong. 

Trust isn't something built on lies and deceit. Trust isn't something that you can just easily give. You're not supposed to trust too easily. You must guard your heart at all costs for whatever poison you feed it with will eventually spread throughout your body and kill your soul.

So do not tell me to trust you wholeheartedly when I tell you that I still need time to build that. I need the time to assess whether you are worthy of trying again. Whether I would not end up like Little Red Riding Hood and die inside the wolf with whom she gave her trust to. 

I am a work in progress. Show me consistency, effort and honesty and you will have my full trust.

 But until then, you will always be my wolf.
