When too much love and comfort becomes suffocating and you feel caged...you'd actually be amazed. All this time you thought that love heals all. That everything will be fine as long as you give your best. Yet here you are. All alone. Bleeding and dying because of a promise that you've heard. Yet you can't remember exactly where it came from.
There are books that tell you of a perfect love. There are stories over the television that promises you this wonderland called forever, which has caught you deeply enticed. Never have you taught that they are reviving an era that has long been dead, and for a good reason, love takes everything from you...not a scrap of emotion left.
Love begins as something so simple. It wishes only for your presence. Seeing you smile, knowing you are happy, that is all love wants. You'd think love will be satisfied with all this but its not. It will devolve into something worse. With fangs and claws, a pair of horns and a tail. It is twisted, hiding everything in a veil of "I love yous", dimming everything with promises never meant to be kept.
There you were. Happily clinging to a monster that's growing. Feeding over your emotions and sucking you dry. You do not notice the pain, (well maybe you do), but then then love keeps drugging you. Making you believe that whatever wonderland you taught it could give you is actually true. But it isn't.
The pain grows. On and on. The wounds get deeper and still you don't notice. You brush off the idea that love is actually deadly, because it has now caught you completely.
There are shackles over your wrists, yet you mistake them for bracelets. There is a collar choking your neck, yet you see it as a necklace. Love drags you with it, and now you move willfully to all its demands. Whatever it asks, you give. Even if it costs you everything...and it does.
Love then gets bored with you. It throws you away and leaves you for dead. Still you wait at its doorsteps, cold and freezing. All because you thought it is something which it is actually not. Then the realization comes. Slowly. Painfully. Making you regret all that you have done so far. Making you regret that you are even alive. Love will not cage you, no, it will leave you. All alone. Crying. Dying. Drowning. While love itself waits for a new victim, someone fooled by the same lies you were. Over....and over....and over again.
