Love to Write? Here are Some Tips to Write Brilliant Essay

Info

Learn to write

To date, people assume that essay writing is for schools. They tend to associate this writing with school work. They are wrong; essays are more than that. They can be about anything. It is a composition of any topic that you may decide to focus on. For students, it is usually a task that many of them dread.

For those who love to write, here are a few tips to make your essays brilliant:

Pick a Topic

You have to start somewhere. A subject should be anything that you’re passionate about and is of interest to you. Then you have to decide whether the purpose of your essay is to persuade or inform. Once you’ve figured out the goal, you will need to get down to research. After this, go back to your purpose; if you intended to persuade, the subject that you write about should show your passion and if it was to inform, write on a topic that you’ve studied well.

Read Other People’s Essays

You can get essays from various sources, even newspapers!

When it comes to any form of writing, a brilliant writer is one who reads other people’s work. The same goes for essays. For you to develop your niche, you need to read other people’s work. Different disciples take a different form of writing style and arguments. The broader the range of essays you read, the more you’ll be open to writing in various techniques. You can also get samples from paper writers to have variety. Broadsheet newspapers, surprisingly, are another excellent source of essays.

Build Your Vocabulary

Don’t just build your vocabulary; you have to use it properly. You may have a passion for writing but expressing yourself may be a challenge. Good writers have a wide range of words. Learn to deliver your points across without using so many words. Learn to use proper and if possible advanced vocabulary. Make learning new words a continuous habit. When you’ve advanced your vocabulary, readers can pick the intelligence of the writer and hence become easily persuaded.

Create an Outline or a Diagram of the Ideas That You Have

Before you write the essay, you’ll need to first organize your thoughts. You can use a diagram or an outline laid on a piece of paper. The structure that you put down can act as a foundation for your essay.

For you to create the diagram, the topic should be in the middle of the page. Draw lines that are branching out from the subject and at the end of these lines put down your main ideas. On the main ideas, branch out more lines depending on the thoughts that you have of them.

For an outline, the topic should go at the top of the page. From there, you can begin to list all the main ideas that you may have. In between the main ideas, you should leave spaces that you should fill with other smaller ideas relatable to the main. From this, the connections for your essay will be visible.

Conclusion

Finally, make a point of proofreading your piece and if possible have someone else do it for you. Your sentences flow should be smooth with no grammar and spelling mistakes. Just like any other skill, practice will always make perfect.
