Loving A Succubus (Part 1)

I woke up sweating heavily from a nightmare. Learning it was morning, I immediately got out of bed and cleaned myself. I took a shower, got on some casual clothes, put on my contacts, and went out of the apartment to get the 6 am bus to the capital. Travel time is pretty long, so I put on my earbuds and played some tunes.

Once the bus stopped by the capital, I went directly to the convenience store to buy an egg sandwich and bottled coffee for breakfast. I ate it on the way to campus, which I got to by 7:30 am. I organized my things and proceeded to my first class of the day which starts by 8 am, still thinking about the nightmare I had.

“Iris! You seem so down so early. What’s up?” someone shouted. I looked back to see who was talking.

“Hey Carla. I had a bad nightmare last night. Guess I’m lucky to still wake up.” I replied.

“I wonder what your nightmares are to consider some of it good. Anyway, what happened?”

“I remember being chased by, I don’t know, someone or something, like some creepy figure that just won’t let me go. I felt like I ran for hours when I finally woke up.”

“You finally did exercise.”

“Carla shut up it’s too early.”

“Just trying to get you to relax.”

“Well thanks for the effort. I’ll get over this after some time.”

“I guess. But have you heard the news around campus?”

“What news?” The bell rang, and our professor came to the room.

“I’ll tell before next class.”

“Okay.” She went to her chair as the professor started the lecture. Both of us went to the campus cafeteria and bought rice meals for lunch after class.

“So, what’s the news?” I asked after we found a spot to eat.

“What news?”

“The news you were about to tell me this morning before class. How forgetful can you be.”

“Oh that news. One of the popular guys broke up with his girlfriend, apparently.”

“Such gossip. Useless news.”

“Well, when you’re really popular, the whole campus is your paparazzi.”

“Who cares.”

“You really hate guys huh.”

“It’s not that I hate them, Carla. I just don’t like them.”

“Whatever.” We put away our dirty plates along with the other ones and went to the library to work on some school works before the next class.

“Hey Iris, have you answered the student inventory for this school year yet?”

“Is it really necessary?”

“It’s required. Haven’t you received the notifications?”

“I just disregard them. Might as well do it now.” I opened the school portal to answer the survey.

“Iris Mary Johnson. 19 years old. Lives at-”

“Carla stop narrating what I’m typing.”

“Okay, okay. Sorry. Still can’t believe you’re gay though.”

Is it really that hard to tolerate? I asked myself. Or am I just weird?

I was popular during high school, not only because of my grades, but because of the rumors about me dumping so many men just after being confessed to. To be honest though, I just didn’t really understand what love is at the time. And even after understanding it, I kept on asking, why me.

I don’t understand why they choose me. I kept on just thinking that they like beautiful girls with great body, unlike me, so I just got more confused the more they confessed to me. But things changed at my last year in high school. I finally accepted someone, some classmate that I also somewhat liked for a while for his character. We dated for a while, but we ended up leaving him after finding out that he cheated on me with a girl from another class. Since then, I just didn’t put anymore trust in relationship with guys, and accepted the fact that I will be with girls from that day on.

I liked being with girls because, well, I am one. I even tried to confess to someone during my first year of campus, but ended up being rejected. It wasn’t because she didn’t like me, or because she found it weird, but because she already likes someone else. I accepted that, and we’re still friends until now. Sometimes she teases me, but she’s just a very loveable person all around.

I let out a sigh after finishing the survey.

“Took you a while. You okay?”

“Yes, I’m okay. Don’t worry.” I checked the time, then folded my laptop. “Let’s go down. The next class is starting.”

“Okay Iris.”

When we got to the room, I dropped my bag then went to the comfort room.

As I was checking myself on the mirror, I thought I saw someone behind me, but there was no one there every time I looked back so I just didn’t think much about it.

I got back to the room a few minutes before classes started. I didn’t really bother about who the people were that much since many of them were shifters. Carla sat close to the front, while I sat by the back of the room. It was okay since I had contacts on. And of course, someone else was sitting beside me.

“Hi. Does anyone sit here?” someone asked.

“Not that I know of. Just take it.” When I saw her, I was in shock.

“Pretty…” I mumbled.

“Were you saying something?” she asked.

“N-nothing, don’t mind me.” I just can’t take my gaze away from her. I tried not to get too distracted with her until the class ended.

Carla and I went to the comfort room after class before going home.

“Hey, did you see that girl beside me?”

“What do you mean? The seat beside you was empty the whole time.”

“Huh? Someone was beside me the whole time. I even forgot to ask her name.”

“Iris, are you sure you’re okay?”

“Yes, I’m okay. And I swear someone was beside me!”

“Go take a rest when you get home, okay Iris?”

“Well, okay. I guess it was just someone else again from another class.” She then pat my head repeatedly.

“If you want, I can be there with you.” Carla then winked.

“You’re not going to be my girlfriend, Carla.”

“Come on! Why don’t you like me?”

“Because I already cherish you too much.” Carla noticeably blushed. I just smiled.

“Alright let’s go home.”

We parted ways outside of the campus. She went to the dorm, while I went to the capital and waited for the 4 pm bus back to my place. I just played some music as usual on the way back to my apartment.

After taking a change of clothes, I got to my bed to take a short nap. I wasn’t thinking anymore about the nightmare I had, but about the girl I saw, whether or not she was actually real. I set an alarm for 6 pm before sleeping.

When I woke up, I washed my face before ordering some dinner online. I just checked my social media while waiting for the food to come. Apparently, there have been sightings and experiences with succubae, some supernatural demonic figure that feeds on people’s lust. It only targets men though, so I wasn’t really bothered by it too much. Some time later, someone knocked on my apartment. I thought it was my dinner, so I immediately opened the door. To my surprise, it was actually the girl that sat beside me during class bringing some food.

“H-hi.” I greeted.

“Hello there. Thanks for helping me this afternoon. I wasn’t able to ask your name this afternoon, but I didn’t know you were living here in the same apartment as me. I thought we could spend some time together tonight.”

“Um, s-sure. I got some time. Maybe we could study as well. My name is Iris, Iris Johnson. You are?” I offered my hand.

“I’m Lilian Smith, but you can just call me Lily. Nice to meet you, Iris.”

“Nice to meet you too, Lily. Come in.” We shook hands, and I let her in the room.

“Sorry for the mess, I wasn’t really expecting people to come at this hour.”

“No it’s okay, I don’t mind.” Just as I was about to sit down, someone was knocking again on my door. I opened it and paid my dinner.

“Let’s eat dinner then?”

“Yeah, let’s eat. If you want anything, I can go to the convenience store.”

“I bought some food as well so don’t worry about it.”

“Sorry I can’t share a lot of mine to you.” She pat my head a bit.

“Don’t apologize too much, Iris. Eating with you is enough.” I blushed hard, and she just smiled. My heart raced.

After eating dinner, we just chatted until it was 8 pm.

“Thanks for spending the night with me, Iris. I’ll see you at campus.”

“Y-yeah, sure. See you.”

“By the way, my room is by 201. If you ever need me, I’ll be there.”

“Sure, I’ll see you.”

“Good night Iris.”

“Good night Lily.” She just smiled at me before leaving. Every time she smiles, my heart races. I spent some time fixing my place before sleeping.

I wasn’t able to sleep properly that night. I just can’t stop thinking about her – her long, black hair, her hazel brown eyes, her sweet smile – just thinking about it is enough to make me feel really happy.

I went to school later the next day since I only have afternoon classes. I did eat lunch with Carla and Lily in the school cafeteria since we were in the same classes.

“She the girl you were talking about yesterday?”

“Yes, Carla. Her name is Lily. We apparently live in the same apartment as well.”

“Nice to meet you, Carla. I’m Lilian Smith. You can call me Lily.”

“I’m Carla Williams. Nice to meet you too, Lily.”

Lily and Carla sat beside me during class. It also was the only class, so we were all feeling kind of lazy. When we were about to go home, Lily told us that she had to go somewhere so she didn’t come home with me.

“You like her, huh.”

“Wh-what? What are you saying?”

“You were obvious, Iris. You kept on looking at her. I was pretty sure you’re really liking her.”

“You know me so well. Yeah, I like her.” I blushed a bit. Carla just teased me.

“Well whatever happens good luck to you.”

“Thanks. I need that.”

I took a nap like usual when I got back to my apartment. I just ordered more food for dinner this time, and planned to invite Lily to eat with me. During my nap though, I felt like it was the nightmare I had before. Someone was chasing me, some shadow figure with wings and horns, long, sturdy tail, and a body of a small woman. I was quick to wake up though, just before my alarm rang.

I went to the Lily’s room, which is the room at the end of the hall in the same floor, to invite her for dinner. She immediately opened the door after I knocked a few times.

“H-hey Lily.”

“Hey Iris. What’s up?”

“Are you free tonight? Let’s have dinner again. I bought the food so don’t worry about it.”

“Sure. I’ll be happy to eat with you. But next time I’ll be bringing the food okay?”

“Yes! I mean, yes. Thanks.” She just smiled. We then spent the night again at my room eating and chatting until 8 pm. I just really can’t stop looking at her.

“Thanks for spending the night again with me, Lily.”

“Anytime. See you.”

“U-umm, Lily?”

“Yeah?”

“Can we do this again tomorrow? Y-you don’t have to bring food, I can provide it. But if you’re busy that’s okay too.” She suddenly pat my head, which made me blush a lot.

“I’ll come tomorrow, don’t worry.”

“Th-thank you! I’ll see you tomorrow!” After she left, I cleaned my room, then also cleaned the pots and pans I only use for special occasions. I also cleaned the induction stove I had since the flame stoves weren’t allowed in the apartment. I had no class for the next day, so I had a lot of time to prepare.

I spent some time doing school works in the morning before taking a shower going to the capital. After eating lunch, I went to the grocery store to buy some ingredients and some snacks. I immediately went back to my apartment after buying groceries, then spent the rest of my afternoon until before dinner to cook. I then went to her room again before dinner to invite her.

When she got to my room, she was surprised by the food I prepared.

“I didn’t know you can cook. Hell, I didn’t know you had these things.”

“I rarely cook since I don’t always have time for it.” We then sat down by the table.

“Is today a special day then?”

“Yeah, I guess it is. Let’s eat!” I can’t focus on eating dinner. I kept on looking at her.

“Um, Lily?”

“What’s up?” When our eyes met, my heart race, and I had to look away.

“I-I actually have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” I felt extremely hesitant. I took a deep breath, and brought up courage.

“I love you, Lily.” She looked at me in some shock, then smiled.

“I love you too, Iris.” I blushed a lot.

“Y-you know, this is not just as friends or anything. I guess you could say, you’re the woman of my dreams.”

“Yeah, I know.” I looked at her while she giggled.

“How did you know? Am I really that obvious?”

“Right now, you are. You are very obvious.” She held my face as if she was about to kiss me.

“And I guess you can really say I am the woman of your dreams.” I blushed more.

“I actually had my eye on you for a while too, so, I guess this makes us even.” She just continued to giggle.

“Stop laughing! This is already too embarrassing for me.” She got out of her chair then hugged me from behind.

“You’re so warm, Iris.”

“You’re so pretty, Lily.” She let go, and I looked at her.

“Are we dating?”

“Starting today? Sure.” She pat my head repeatedly. I felt really comfortable with her touch.

“Let’s finish our dinner first, then talk about our future.”

“A-are you sure you’re okay with this though? I know that I’ve rushed things a little bit.”

“It’s okay, pay it no mind.” We then continued to eat dinner. After I cleaned the dishes, we just continued to chat like usual.

“So, do you want to live together? I got a bunk bed in my room, and we can split the payment for rent.”

“A-a-are you sure? W-wouldn’t I just be a bother right now? Beside, we just started dating!”

“It’s fine, don’t worry. Let’s just tell the landlord about us moving together into one room. There’s also plenty of space for us to study. I usually study on my bed anyway, so you can use the desk.” I blushed a lot. I also can’t remove the smile from my face.

“I’ll be happy to live with you, Lily! Thank you!” I hugged her tightly. She hugged me back, and we stayed like that for a while.

“Let’s do the move this weekend. I’ll go back to my room for now. I got no classes, so I won’t see you at campus tomorrow. I’ll be in my room the whole day, so don’t worry about me.”

“Okay Lily. I guess I’ll see you tomorrow by dinner again.” Before she left, we exchanged numbers. I jumped to my bed and screamed to my pillow in joy afterwards. I slept two hours that night, and I was not able to sleep again. The coffee I had on the way to campus wasn’t enough to even wake me up.

“What’s up Iris! Been a while since I’ve seen you this sleepy. Had that dream again?”

“No, but I had fun with Lily last night.”

“’What did you do with Lily last night? Hmm?” Carla smirked and teased me.

“Nothing happened, Carla.”

“Bet you confessed huh.” I blushed, then looked away.

“You actually did?!” Carla exclaimed. A few classmates looked at us.

“Shhh! You’re so noisy!”

“I can’t believe it! You finally found someone! I mean, I did wish it was me but, I’m happy for you!”

“Thanks. Let’s talk about this more by lunch.”

“Shouldn’t you eat with her? Come on.”

“She doesn’t have classes today so maybe we’ll just eat dinner again later.”

“Good luck to you, Iris.” The professor came exactly as the bell rang. By lunch, we had talked about it even more. I told her about me moving in with Lily, which just made her tease me more. Our afternoon classes took longer though, and I took the 5 pm bus from the capital back to my place. I saw her waiting when I got back.

“Hey! Have you been waiting for me? Sorry to make you wait!” I rushed to her.

“No, not really. Don’t worry about it.”

“Well what’s up?”

“You’re coming to my place later tonight, okay?” I blushed.

“Y-yes, sure! I’m definitely going!”

“Go take a nap. I’ll see you later.” She smiled then went back to her room. I wasn’t even able to nap anymore that afternoon. I was too excited to go to her room and eat with her. I took a pretty change of clothes before going. I just knocked a few times and waited for her to open the door.

“Hey Iris. Are you going somewhere? Just kidding.”

“Hey Lily. I honestly wasn’t able to nap at all. I was too excited to be with you.”

“You’re looking pretty. Come on in.” I blushed hard. When I got in, I didn’t even realize what she was cooking.

Her room was the same size as mine, yet it feels a little more spacious and feels a little lighter. Everything just feels natural and comfortable.

I just waited for her on the table.

“So, do you want to sleep with me tonight?” I looked at her in shock.

“Wh-what?”

“You heard me. Let’s sleep together tonight.” I blushed hard. My heart started to race even more than before.

“S-sure! I-I’ll get my stuff later after dinner.” She served dinner.

“You’re so cute when you’re awkward.” I blushed hard and felt really embarrassed. “Just get what you wear for school. Don’t worry about the bed and pillows.”

“O-okay Lily.”

“Let’s eat dinner for now. Let’s enjoy this night.” She smiled and giggled before we ate dinner. I just feel my face blushing the whole time. After eating dinner, even though I insisted in helping her wash the dishes, but she just told me to get my stuff. I took some clothes and brought my bag back to her place. We then just chatted until it was time for us to sleep.

“I’ll just go get the top of the bed, Lily.”

“I told you, Iris, we’re sleeping together.”

“W-wait, you really mean it?”

“Yup. I know you’re excited.” She giggled.

“Sh-shut up.” I blushed a lot.

“We’ll be sleeping together soon anyway, might as well do it now.” I just blushed even more.

“You know me so well. Let’s sleep!”

“I’ll be in front so you can hug me. I know you want to.” She smiled at me. I can’t even hide my excitement anymore. After covering both of us and greeting each other good night, I hugged her tight, but not too tight to be uncomfortable for her. And even if my heart was racing for a while, I calmed down as soon as I was hugging her. Her soft skin, her smell, everything about her was enough to make me sleep calmly. I had a good dream that night as well.

The next morning, Lily woke me up.

“Wake up, Iris. We still have classes today.” I was immediately awake because of the blood rush from her being so lovey-dovey with me.

“I’ll be taking a shower first, okay? Be right back.”

“Okay Lily.” I stayed for a while longer in the bed. My alarm rang after Lily took a shower. I was just waiting for her to finish.

“I just realized, you wake up early.”

“Once we officially live together, you will be too.”

“I don’t really have a problem with that, but why do you wake up this early?”

“I take some time to check my things in case I was missing some requirements, but I usually just buy breakfast at the capital.”

“Well then let’s buy some later okay? I’ll go take a shower now. Is it okay if I use your shampoo?”

“I know you’ll be more than happy to use my shampoo, so go ahead.”

“Thank you!”

“Let me use yours sometimes too. I like it.”

“Sure!” After taking a shower, I was smiling really big. Lily just giggles and teases me the whole time.

“Let’s go?”

“Sure, let’s go.” We got down to the bus stop and before I realized I wore my glasses and not my contacts.

“You look cute in glasses, so don’t worry about it.” I looked at her in embarrassment and blushed.

“W-well, if you say so.” I just looked down and blushed more. We bought the same food for breakfast and ate it on the way to campus. We don’t have the same first class, so we parted when we reached the buildings. When I got to my room, Carla immediately teased me.

“Bet she called you cute in glasses so you’re wearing it now.”

“Actually, I forgot to wear contacts so I wore my glasses.”

“How could you forget to wear contacts? Did you lose them somewhere?”

“We slept together in her room last night, and I didn’t bring everything-”

“You slept together?! Your relationship is going so fast! I’m happy for you!”

“We just slept, Carla. Nothing happened.”

“But you do wish something did.” I blushed and looked away.

“You’re so easy to read. Well whatever happens I’m still supporting you two.”

“Thanks Carla. You’re the best.”

“Well, what’s the point of being called a ‘best friend’ if I’m not the best.”

“You got me there.” Both of us laughed. We then chatted until classes began.

All three of us then ate lunch together. Both of them just teased me the whole time, Carla being the majority. She also told more about me to Lily. It didn’t make me feel left out, but it definitely got me a bit embarrassed. All of us then got home past 5 pm because of afternoon classes. Carla as usual just went to the dorm, while Lily and I waited and ate snacks at the capital since the buses won’t come until 6 pm. We also bought some other ingredients for dinner.

When we got back to the apartment, I took a change of clothes in my own room, then went directly to her room afterwards. She was already cooking when I came in.

“So, we’re fixing the moving papers tomorrow, right?”

“Yup. You excited?” I blushed.

“N-no, not really. I’m actually still feeling a little awkward.”

“You say that, but you look like you’re really excited to sleep with me.” I blushed even more. I suddenly hugged her from behind while she was cooking.

“Your heart’s racing, I can feel it.”

“It’s because I really love you, Lily. I can’t hide my excitement when I’m with you.”

“I love you too, Iris. For now, go serve some plates. Dinner is almost ready.”

“Okay.” I let go, then got some rice and served some plates. She then served the food, and we had a chat while eating dinner. We woke up a little later the next day since it was the weekends.

“What do you want for breakfast?” Lily asked.

“You cooking for me?” I teased. She smiled and winked at me. I blushed.

“Wh-whatever you want to cook for me.”

“You’re really such a cutie. I’m glad I have you.” I blushed a lot while just looking at her smile.

After eating breakfast, we went to the landlord’s room on the first floor of the apartment, and had a talk about us moving together. He agreed, so we fixed the papers within the day. My room had the furniture that the tenant before me sold to the landlord, so I didn’t have any problem moving them. It was still a little spacious after the move since I didn’t have much to bring anyway other than my clothes and pots and pans. I can’t hide my excitement during the move. Lily just keeps on teasing me the whole time.

“Hey, let’s go on a date.” I offered.

“Sure. Where are we going?”

“Let’s go to the mall by the capital.”

“We’re eating out huh? I like that. Not that I’m tired of cooking or anything, just seems like a good change of pace from our daily life.” I blushed a bit.

“I’ll go take a shower then. I’ll try out your shampoo today. Be right back.”

“Sure Lily. I’ll prepare our clothes. I’ll pick a cute one for you.”

“Thanks!”

We got to the capital just a few minutes after 12 pm. We ate lunch and did some shopping, as well as play in the arcade like children. We got home after eating dinner.

“I had a very fun day with you, Iris. Thanks.”

“I had so much fun with you too, Lily. Did you get the photo from the arcade?”

“I have it in my wallet. I’m keeping it there for the rest of my life.” I blushed, then hugged her tight. She hugged me back tightly as well.

“I love you, Lily.”

“I love you too, Iris.” We looked at each other. Her eyes was so pretty it was almost sparkling.

“May I?” Lily asked. It got me confused for a bit.

“S-sure, I guess.”

“Close your eyes then.” I closed my eyes as she let go of me. I just waited for a bit to whatever is about to happen.

“Okay, open your eyes.” When I opened my eyes, I saw her holding a necklace. It was a beautiful necklace, which she put on me afterwards. She was wearing the same necklace, just different colors.

“You thought I was going to kiss you, huh?” I blushed hard, then looked down out of embarrassment.

“Sh-shut up.” I looked back at her. “But, thanks. I’ll treasure this forever.”

“Come here. I’ll whisper you something.” I came closer to her. She kissed me on my cheek. I looked at her in shock, while blushing really hard.

“You’re so red. Such a cutie.” I tackle hugged her.

“No fair! I now just feel more embarrassed that I can’t even bring myself to do it to you…”

“You can do it. Come on.” I looked at her, then kissed her on her cheek, before burying my face on her chest. She just caressed my head while hugging me.

“I love you so much, Iris.” I looked at her straight in the eyes.

“I love you too so much, Lily.” After that, we just chatted until it was time for us to sleep.

I didn’t even notice a week pass by since then. I was having fun being with Lily, yet I still can’t help but wish that we can last forever.

One night, I woke up when I heard something rumble. I also noticed that Lily wasn’t with me on the bed, but the lights in the bathroom were on, so I just assumed it was her. It was just a few minutes past Sunday midnight when I checked the time. I still took off and knocked on the bathroom door.

“Lily? Is that you?” I waited for a while, but no one was answering. I knocked more.
