Loving A Succubus (Part 2)

“Lily are you okay over there? Is something wrong?” When I touched the door knob, I realized it wasn’t locked at all. I opened it out of panic, just to realize Lily wasn’t actually there.

I felt a sudden gust of wind while I was inside the bathroom. When I got out, my eyes had widened out of fear and confusion. I know I was awake, but confused because I was seeing a silhouette of the thing chasing me in my dreams – horns and big wings, and a long tail. It turned around and looked to my direction. I can feel its red eyes dart on me.

“Who are you? What did you do to Lily?! To MY Lily?!” I panicked as she walked towards me. I walked back slowly trying to grab anything I can defend myself with, but I got nothing. I reached the door as the creature is still pursuing me.

“Iris, relax. I’m not here to hurt you.” It said.

“What are you?! Where is Lily?! ANSWER ME!” When I was finally able to feel the light switch, I pushed it immediately. It wasn’t as bright outside, so I was slightly blinded by the lights turning on. Once my eyes adjusted to the brightness, I realized that who I was looking at, the one I thought was a monster, was actually Lily, crying.

“Lily…” Her hair was a little longer and colorful, while her tail was black with a heart in the end. Her wings were really wide, and her horns were long, but slightly damaged. She was the succubus chasing many people in their dreams. She hid her wings and horns quickly and just looked at me blankly while crying. I came to her.

“Iris I can explain.” I held her cheeks then wiped away her tears.

“Let’s go to sleep, Lily. You had me worry enough tonight. Come on, let’s just sleep.” She just looked at me in shock and held my hand on her face while crying.

“Stop crying, Lily. Let’s go to sleep.”

“O-okay Iris.” I caressed her hair for a while. I turned off the lights, pulled her to the bed, covered both of us, then slept while hugging her. She was crying for a while longer, so I caressed her head until she was sound asleep. I slept after I was comfortable that she was asleep.

When morning came, I was the first one awake, so I got out of bed carefully to let her sleep. I got some ingredients from her fridge and prepared breakfast for both of us. She woke up just after I finished cooking.

“Good morning, Lily.” I greeted while serving her food.

“G-good morning, Iris.” She noticeably cannot look at me.

“There’s no need to apologize, Lily. It’s okay.” She still cannot look at me.

“You’re already thinking of leaving me, aren’t you...?” She slowly teared up.

“Not at all, actually.” She urgently turned around and looked at me.

“But Iris-”

“Shhh.” I put my finger by her lips and stopped her from talking. “I told you, Lily. I’m not planning to leave anytime soon.” I took off my finger from her.

“Let’s eat breakfast first, then we’ll have the talk. Okay?” Lily nodded, so we proceeded to eat breakfast. After eating, I cleaned the dishes, while she just sat down on the bed, looking down on the floor the whole time. I sat down beside her afterwards. She just held my hand tightly.

“Do you want to say something, Lily?” She stayed silent for a while.

“I’m not mad, Lily. Don’t worry about it.” She still won’t talk. But when I tried to hug her, she kept on holding my hand tightly, so I’m not able to let go at all.

“I’m sorry that I hadn’t told you about what I am, Iris. I just didn’t want you to fear me immediately. But I was planning to tell you some time in the future. I really wish you didn’t find out this way…”

“And I wish you didn’t chase me in my dreams for a few times, yet here we are.” I giggled a bit.

“I’m sorry about that too. But, as you saw, both in dreams and just recently, I am a succubus.” She still won’t look at me.

“Can you show me your form again? Is it okay?” She looked at me in shock. I just smiled at her.

“Okay, I guess.” She got out of bed and stood up in front of me, then changed into her succubus form. It was a little more erotic than I thought, but I guess I just wasn’t expecting that.

“H-here’s my succubus form.” I got out of bed as well and hugged her tightly, which noticeably caught her out of guard.

“Iris…? What are you doing…?”

“Hugging you, what do you think?” She was a little bare even behind. I was able to feel a little bit more of her skin. Her wings were dark and slightly creepy up close, but I just disregarded it to calm her down.

“H-how are you doing this…?” I let go of her, and she changed back to her human form.

“Do what?”

“Us succubae has the ability to see emotion as some sort of aura. We’re also more sensitive in feeling people’s emotions. That’s how I know that you’re excited even if you aren’t noticeably excited.”

“And what do I do that confuses you?”

“You were able to smile and comfort me even though you feel fearful of my wings. Usually everyone is just afraid every time they see me in my succubus form.” I held her hand, then pulled her to bed as we both sat down.

“I guess it’s because, well, I love you, Lily.” She blushed.

“I’ll be honest, you’re not the first one that confessed to me, Iris.”

“What happened to the first one?”

“As soon as he knew that I was a succubus, he immediately chose to break up with me. We were a year in the relationship before I told him and showed him my succubus form.”

“Well, you know, things happen as a surprise and we, humans, just aren’t always capable of immediately accepting those things. We panic, we choose wrong, we regret things.” She hugged me tightly after that, so I hugged her back.

“I can’t promise anything, Iris. But, I will love you back just as much as you love me, until the day comes that you don’t want me anymore.”

“I wish that day never comes. I wish that we can stay like this forever.” So we stayed hugging for a while. After we let go of each other, I checked the time, just to see it was close to lunch.

“I’ll just order some lunch for today, okay?” I then got out of bed.

“Come here Iris.”

“Why? What’s up?”

“Just come here.”

“Well, okay.” I came back to her.

“Sit down.” I sat down.

“You’re gonna kiss me, aren’t you?” She nodded.

“You’re so cute. Go ahead then.” She kissed me on my lips, which took me by surprise. It also lasted for a while. She was the one that let go of me. She licked her lips and smiled at me afterwards. I smiled back, then kissed her again. Her lips were almost as soft and as smooth as her skin. It also lasted for a while.

“You’re finally back, Lily.” I smiled, and she blushed.

“Go on, order some lunch. Maybe next week let’s go out again and eat at the capital.”

“Sure, why not.” Both of us laughed. The day went on like usual.

Few more weeks passed by, and every day we learn more about each other. Every day that passes just intensifies our relationship even more. After some time, it was finally our first month. It was a Wednesday, so I had no classes, but Lily does. I still woke up the same time as her in the morning, I just didn’t bother to leave the bed immediately.

“Good morning Lily.”

“Iris? You’re awake already? Go and sleep, you don’t have classes today.”

“Do you know what day it is today?”

“Yeah, Wednesday. Why?”

“What else?”

“What do you mean what else? Something important?” I jumped out of bed and hugged her.

“Happy 1st month, Lily!” Both of us blushed. She hugged me back.

“Happy 1st month, Iris.” She felt really warm and comforting, but I had to let go after a while.

“I have class for today, so how about we go eat out by lunch?"

“Well, I want this day to be special, so I’ll be cooking our food for today! Go on now, take a shower. I’ll cook breakfast.” I pushed her to the bathroom.

“I’ll be waiting then.” I proceeded to cook omelette rice for the both of us while she was taking a shower. We had fun eating breakfast that morning.

“By the way, before we were dating and going to school together, how do you travel? Because I really don’t see you go to school using the bus. Do you fly?”

“Flying is dangerous in the morning, not because of the dress I sometimes wear, but because more people might see me and be more confused.”

“So do you ride the bus and just hide your presence?”

“That’s just rude, so no. I do shadow travel.”

“What’s that?”

“Basically, I just travel using shadows. It’s how we also hide our presence, specially at night. I guess I can show it to you later.”

“Please, I’m really confused.” After cleaning the dishes, I waited for her outside, where it was still a little dark.

“I’ll be going now.”

“Hey, you said you’d show me.”

“Oh, right. Usually, once you blink, I could already be gone, but I’ll do it slowly for now.” Her own shadow got darker, and she slowly sank to the ground.

“Take care, Lily. I love you.”

“I love you too, Iris. I’ll see you later.” She the sank to the ground fully.

That looks so cool, I thought. I took a shower and went to the capital market to buy groceries. I immediately started cooking when I got home. We had fun the whole afternoon just teasing each other and playing once she got home.

As usual, when it was time for sleep, I was hugging Lily as well.

“Good night, Lily. Happy 1st.” She turned around. Our faces were so close to each other.

“Good night, Iris. Happy 1st. I love you.” She kissed me on my lips, which lasted for a while.

“I love you too, Lily.” She hugged me while still looking at me, then slept. I just hugged her back.

“I guess you really like me because I’m warm.”

“Yeah, that’s one reason. But there’s something more important that I’d rather keep it a secret.”

“It’s okay, Lily. Sweet dreams.”

Lily had no classes the next day, so I carefully got out of bed to let Lily sleep. My morning then went on like usual. When I got to my room, Carla immediately ran to me and hugged me.

“Hi Iris!”

“Hello Carla. You seem very happy today. What’s up?”

“N-nothing, really. Just happy.” She let go of me. “Although, say, do you have time this Saturday?”

“Yeah, I got time. Why?”

“C-can we go on a date? You know, a date between friends, that’s all.”

“Sure.” She smiled big, then hugged me again.

“Thanks! I’ll see you at the capital mall by, say, after lunch?”

“Sounds good to me.” She let go of me after a while. Once I got home, I told Lily about it.

“Well, just be sure to bring me home some snacks okay? Just kidding. You go have fun with her, don’t mind me.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll bring you food if I can.”

“You don’t have to go home by dinner, okay? Cherish your time with her. She’s your best friend, after all.” I hugged her tightly and kissed her.

“I love you, Lily. Thanks for understanding.”

“I love you too, Iris. Just promise me that you’ll always keep safe, okay?”

“Yes, I promise.” Both of us just smiled and giggled.

I went to the capital mall by around 1 pm. When I got there, Carla was waiting by the mall entrance already, so I rushed there.

“Hey! Was I late? Have I kept you waiting?”

“No, not at all. I just got here as well so don’t worry about it.”

“Well, what do you want to do?”

“Let’s go shopping!”

“Sure! Lily told me that I don’t have go home by dinner so you got me the whole afternoon until night. Let’s go!” Her smile slightly faded away, but she still looked very happy. We mostly just roamed around the mall, occasionally buying things. We also had some time to watch a movie together. We had fun.

After watching a movie, we went to go eat dinner. While waiting, Carla went somewhere, and she just came back bringing a small, blank paper bag.

“What’d you buy?”

“A gift for someone.”

“Oh okay.” The food came.

“Let’s eat!” I’m taking glances at her while we were eating. She doesn’t seem happy, yet she’s smiling. Once we were finished, I finally asked her.

“Hey Carla.”

“Yeah?”

“Are you okay?”

“What are you saying? Of course, I’m okay! I’m on a date with my best friend.”

“You don’t look like you’re having fun, Carla. Tell me what’s wrong.”

“I’m okay, Iris. There’s no problem with me. Don’t worry about it.”

“Okay, if you say so.”

“Anyway, I guess it’s time to go home. Come with me?”

“You brought your car?”

“Yeah, actually. I went home yesterday so I had a change to bring the car. I’ll be back at the dorm by next week though.”

“Okay then, let’s go.” When we got to her car, she kept on looking around.

“H-here.” She gave me the paper bag.

“Wait, it’s for me?” I took the bag to find a teddy bear inside.

“Iris, I have a confession to make.”

“What is it? Something happened?” Carla suddenly grabbed me, then kissed me on my lips. I pushed her away from me.

“Carla what the hell?!”

“I love you, Iris. But I don’t love you just as a best friend. I love you more than just a best friend.”

“What are you saying?”

“Ever since that day I rejected you, I thought that it would really be better for us just to be friends, so I can still be with you without us having too much conflict that we cannot fix. But as time went on, I started developing feelings for you. I know I rejected you, but the more I was with you the more I want to stay with you. But I can’t just bring myself to you again after what happened before between us, so I just try to tease you some times so maybe you’ll get what I want to say, or maybe you’ll fall again for me…”

“Carla…”

“But what took me more than 5 years to build up just took you 3 days to do…and ever since you started dating Lily all you talk about is her. We did this, we did that, but how about us, Iris? HOW ABOUT US? I THOUGHT WE WERE BEST FRIENDS! WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT FRIENDSHIP!” She started to cry.

“That’s it, Carla. We were friends. I thought we were just friends. Ever since that day you rejected me, I chose to stay with you just as a friend because I thought the same as you do. But, I also knew that I had no chance to be with you at all. So, I just didn’t try anymore. And since we became best friends, I took your tease as just a tease, no more, no less.”

“I guess, chasing you all these years was useless then, huh…” I just looked down as she got into her car.

“See you around, Iris.” She rushed to leave while crying. I stood there for a while, just looking at the teddy bear she gave me. After a while, I finally decided to come home. When I got home, I was still looking down, and feeling down. I dropped off my things by the tables.

“What happened Iris?” I just looked blankly at Lily for a while.

I felt really depressed and got out of control. I started to make out with Lily for a bit. Sometimes she will just look at me, but overall she’s not resisting. I took of my top, then took hers off as well, before she pushed me on the bed. She was then on top of me, holding my hands. I started sweating a bit as we can’t avoid eye contact. Her face got closer to me, almost kissing me again. I can feel her warm breath on my neck. She was a succubus, after all, so this is normal to her. I just closed my eyes.

Slowly, I felt her hands release me. I then just heard a loud sigh as she got out of bed. I simply watched her get dressed afterwards.

“Why…why didn’t you do it…?” Lily won’t reply. I got out of bed, still shirtless.

“Why didn’t you do it? Why didn’t you do me? I thought it was your job to sate people’s lust!” She slapped me hard.

“When I chose to be in this relationship, I didn’t choose you because of your lust. I chose you because I want you.” Tearing up, she looked at me.

“Yes, as a succubus, it’s my job. But I’m sorry if I didn’t do it to you, I’m sorry if I disappointed you. I don’t know what happened between the two of you, so unless you’ll properly tell me, I’m going to leave for a while.” I just looked down on the ground for a while. When I looked back up, she was already gone. Realizing what I did, I turned off the lights and cried on my bed until I fell asleep. I woke up some time in the early morning when I felt like someone was watching me. Lily wasn’t on the bed with me, or anywhere. I just continued to sleep until it was finally morning.

When morning came, I was still too depressed to even get out of bed. I’m just looking at the bottom of the top bunk, just thinking about what I have done. I checked my phone frequently too, expecting a message from either Lily or Carla. I cried again after a while before finally deciding to stand up.

“Are you ready to apologize, Iris?” Lily emerged from the shadow, then hugged me tight from behind. I held her hand, then cried even more. I turned around and hugged her tightly as well.

“I’m sorry, Lily…I’m really sorry…” I just continued to cry over her while she comforted me. We then sat down on the bed before I told her what happened.

“It’s okay if you’re mad at me…if you want to leave me that’s okay too…I deserve it…”

“Iris, let me finish what I was telling you yesterday.”

“What is it?”

“I didn’t do it to you, even though I can, because I chose to do something else. I know I’ve been chasing you in your dreams for a while. But ever since I talked to you, I just didn’t want to do it anymore.”

“What did you choose to do, Lily?” She looked at me straight to my eyes then held my hand.

“I chose to protect you.” My eyes widened, and I blushed a little bit.

“Ever since we became one, I chose to protect you to the most I can. Wherever you maybe, I will be there if you’re in danger. You don’t have to call me, but you also don’t need to worry because I’m not stalking you or just staying in your shadow all the time. Even for a demon, I have manners too.” I hugged her tightly.

“I love you so much, Lily. Thank you for always being there for me.”

“I love you too, Iris.” We just hugged each other for a while.

The next day at campus, Carla still won’t talk to me. I just didn’t bother her because I didn’t know how to talk to her. But just as the bell rang, my phone also rang. It was my mother calling me. I just left the room before the professor came in.

“I’m in class right now, mom. What is it?”

“It’s your father. Something happened to him. Can you come home today?”

“Okay, I’ll go there immediately.” I got my things, then went to the office to get an excuse slip. I was such in a rush that I just texted Lily that I already went back to my hometown. I took a few buses to get there just after lunch. When I got to my home, there were a lot of people outside, mostly my cousins and relatives. I found my mother outside, crying. I directly went to her.

“Mom? What happened to dad?”

“I’m sorry to break this to you now, after all this time, but, your father is dying.” I slowly teared up out of shock.

“Wh-wh-what do you mean? He was healthy a few months ago, before I even went back to college.”

“He has cancer, Iris. Your father has cancer, and it’s already on its last stage. He’s been undergoing chemotherapy since last year, we just didn’t tell you because we didn’t want you to worry too much and stop college.”

“I-I thought he was healthy…?”

“That’s what we thought too, but it turns out that he still wasn’t fully recovered. We went on a checkup last week, and the doctor said that he is on the 4th stage of cancer.” While we were talking, an ambulance came, and paramedics from inside the house were bringing my father. My mother and I got in the ambulance with him, and we went to the hospital. He was immediately put in ICU when we came there. When it was okay to be in the room with him, we just stayed in there. My father only had some medicine in IV bags and other machinery just to keep him alive. My mother started a conversation after a while.

“So, how’s college? Are you doing well?”

“It’s still pretty hard, but I’m used to it.”

“Are your grades okay?”

“Yeah, pretty good, I guess. But, mom, I have a confession to make.”

“What is it?”

“I’m…I’m actually dating someone right now.”

“Oh.”

“Are you mad…? I know you told me that I should focus on my studies first but-”

“No, it’s okay, Iris. You’re in college now. You’ve even learned to be independent even in your first year. It’s your choices now that matter more, since we’re not always there for you.”

“Actually mom, I’m dating another girl.” My mother looked at me blankly, then laughed.

“I’m serious mom. I’m dating another-”

“And you thought this is a good time to bring that up?! You’re the only child in our family! Maybe I will still agree on this but have you thought if your father will agree on this? The whole time we’re expecting a grandson just to bring the family name, but now you’re just dating a woman? Do you even plan to keep our traditions alive?!”

“Mom-”

“Get out! Get out right now!” I rushed out of the room. When I got out of the hospital, I just cried. I got depressed even more when I remembered my fight with Carla. That time, I just lost control again. I felt really down, and felt that no one will mind if I’m gone. The only friends I have were Carla and Lily, no more, no less. I had friends in high school too but, they just left me one by one for no reason.

Not a lot of people were on the road that night. I had a walk just thinking about whatever happened to me, and why I actually just quit anything at all. When I reached the bridge on the way home, I stopped by without thinking at all. At that moment, I also felt like my life had already stopped, and I got nothing to lose. I lost my best friend, my father is dying, my mother hates me. No one else as around, so I just stood up on the ledge of the bridge, then looked down. I am afraid of heights, but at that moment, I wasn’t afraid of anything at all.

3…2…1. I jumped off. It was a long fall, but the breeze on the way down was the only comforting thing at that moment. I felt great falling down, felt free, felt like nothing will stop me. But then I felt a force on my body, like I jumped down with a bungee cord. Everything stopped moving for a while, before I felt the wind again. To my surprise, I wasn’t falling anymore, but I was rather floating, or flying.

“You’re so stupid, Iris. You’re really stupid.” The voice sounded familiar. I realized what was happening, and I just cried. When we got down to the ground again, I just didn’t bother to look back anymore.

“Will you accept my sorry…?” The tugging force suddenly felt very loose, but still tight.

“Lily…will you accept my sorry…?”

“Once you have come back to the apartment, we’ll have another talk, okay?” She let go of me. When I looked back, she wasn’t there, or anywhere.

“Was I dreaming?” I received a text from Lily.

“Promise me to never do that again, okay Iris?” I wiped my tears and smiled.

“I’m sorry. I promise.” Walking back to the hospital gave me more time to think about what I was doing. I went back to the room my father was in.

“Mom…I’m sorry…” My mother suddenly hugged me tightly.

“No, Iris, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t interfere with your life too much. Like I have said, it’s your choices now that matters the most. So if dating a girl makes you happy, so be it.”

Hearing that, I hugged my mother tightly as well and cried.

“Thanks, mom.”

“I…Iris...? Is…is that you?” I looked back to see my dad awake.

“Dad! How are you? I’m sorry I hadn’t come earlier.”

“It’s okay, Iris. I’ll be okay. But, I’ve also overheard you just now.” While holding my father’s hand, I looked down.

“Whatever your mother said, Iris, is also what I’m going to say.” I looked back at him in shock.

“You’re my little girl. Just be sure that you keep your relationship healthy, it’s all I ask.”

“Thanks, dad…” I held my father’s hand tighter and cried. I then stayed in the hospital for the night. By early morning, since I was sure that my father will be back to his therapy, and my mother told me as well, I got off and went back to the apartment. I did promise them that I will visit every weekend, no matter the cost.

I got to the apartment around 5 am, just the time that we wake up. The door was unlocked when I got there, and when I opened it, Lily was just waiting for me.

“I’m home, Lily.” I hugged her tightly.

“Welcome back, Iris.” She hugged me back tightly as well. We looked at each other then laughed. Everything went on like usual. I got earlier to the campus when I learned that Carla wanted to talk to me. We met in the school cafeteria to talk.

“I’m sure Iris told you about what happened, Lily. It’s okay to hate me.”

“I’m not mad, Carla. Don’t worry about it anymore. But, I guess you got more things to say to Iris.” Carla looked at me.

“Iris…I…I’m sorry…” She slowly teared up. “I didn’t know what came to me, or what happened to me…my heart suddenly just felt really heavy…and I had to tell everything to you…” I caressed her head slowly.

“Are we still friends…Iris…?”

“We’re not just friends, remember? We’re best friends.” She looked at me. I smiled at her, and she smiled back.

“Yeah, we’re best friends.”

“I love you, Carla.”

“Iris!”

“No, it’s okay. I trust you two.” Lily just smiled at us.

“Well, then, I love you too, Iris.” We hugged each other, and the day went on like normal, even after Carla learned that Lily was a succubus.

That night after dinner, Lily randomly became lovey-dovey with me.

“Hey Lily, what’s with the get up? You’re like an animal in heat.” She’s just hugging me tight from behind until I finished washing the dishes.

“Come with me.” She pulled me close to a more clear area of the room.

“Close your eyes.” I then closed my eyes.

“If you’re going to kiss me, this is an old trick. Just saying.”

“No, I’ll do that later. Open your eyes.”

“Later? What do you mean-” She was kneeling down in front of me, holding a ring.

“L-Lily? What is this?”

“What else could it be?” My hands started trembling. My heart started to race. I can feel my face blushing really hard.

“Iris, I know it’s just been a month since we’ve started dating, but, will you be my girlfriend?”

“Yes! Yes! Omg yes!” She put the ring over my right ring finger. When she stood up, we hugged each other tightly and kissed each other.

“I wish this happens again someday in the future, but I am your wife.”

“We can make that happen.” We hugged each other tighter.

“I love you so much, Lily.”

“I love you too, Iris.”
