Mental Illness in the Workplace - Employers Can Prevent Mental Illness

Info

It may come as a surprise to you, that many professionals struggle with anxiety in their working lives. A common one is feeling a fraud or a fake, there anxious that they feel they will be found out. This is why increasingly professionals are turning to private anxiety counselling in an effort to overcome their anxiety, and become more effective and happier in their roles.

A study conducted by the United Kingdom's University of Liverpool found that approximately 20 percent of employers in the United Kingdom have experienced anxiety in the workplace, and these are no longer limited to the stressful situations, but are a common problem for many professionals.

There are many reasons that employers are turning to private anxiety counselling, from the simple fear of being exposed to scrutiny for their work to more complex fears of anxiety about what will happen if their clients discover their anxiety, or suspicions. A common reason is that they feel they will be exposed to scrutiny by clients, such as those worried about clients noticing that they are struggling to complete their work or that they are suffering from stress.

A study conducted by the Liverpool University revealed that more than 20 percent of employers fear their employees will complain if they know they are suffering from anxiety and 10 percent are concerned that they will lose clients if they know their clients are suffering.

What's even worse is that this survey uncovered a number of clients who are so desperate to keep out clients that they are prepared to break client trust in exchange for additional income. As a result of this there is a significant rise in cases of client cheating or stealing, with clients getting hurt in the process.

In recent years, it's become common for anxious and stressed workers to be found working at dangerous jobs, such as working on oil rigs or in construction sites. It's not hard to see why some employers may see such jobs as a way to help relieve their anxiety, while others may see such jobs as a way to get additional income to help them take their mind off their anxiety.

The sad thing is that such work really does offer quick fixes, and for many workers, the rush of being down on the ground working on the machines is too good to turn down, leading to terrible injuries and stress related illnesses. What's important here is that as much as possible should be done to help workers to avoid being so exposed, and to be aware of the fact that they might not be able to turn down potentially dangerous jobs.

As much as possible should be done to prevent workers from getting close to dangerous jobs, such as jobs in dangerous locations. For those that already are in such situations, they should be given support and counselling to assist them to get over the shock of being exposed to these jobs. There should be an awareness campaign to warn workers of the dangers of these jobs as part of the same campaign to warn workers that such jobs are a temporary fix, and that other work is available.

As an employer, it's your responsibility to protect your staff from being exposed to such jobs. The survey has shown that 9 percent of employees have suffered from stress, anxiety and depression, and that's a huge number of people who may not be aware they are suffering from it. The survey also uncovered that nearly half of all employees who had experienced stress were unaware that it was caused by anxiety, and another 35 percent who had experienced anxiety were unaware that it was caused by stress. It's important to know that anxiety is caused by stress and that the effects of stress are serious.

The survey also reveals that 26 percent of employees who had experienced anxiety felt that they would never be able to recover, and 13 percent felt they had a strong tendency towards anxiety and depression. The survey also uncovered that 11 percent of employees who had experienced anxiety said they had attempted suicide.

It is important to be aware of the signs of mental illness in your workplace. If your staff are displaying signs of mental illness, it's important to act upon it.

The symptoms of anxiety and depression in the workplace, can be subtle and difficult to recognise. It is therefore important for an employer to be aware of the signs of mental illness in the workplace, so as to take the appropriate action to avoid the spread of mental illness in your workplace.

The survey asked participants to identify the causes of anxiety and stress, and they identified work as the main cause of stress. They were unaware that it was stress that caused anxiety, stress that caused stress. The survey also revealed that 16 percent of participants who had experienced stress felt that they had no control over their situation, and they had a strong tendency towards stress.

The survey also found that 17 percent of people who had experienced anxiety said that they had attempted suicide. It's important for an employer to know that it's usually the closest person who will attempt suicide because they feel the most stress and anxiety. They are the ones who will feel the most pressure and what will cause them the most stress. They are also the ones who will feel the most accountable for the company. Only they will be aware of the general effects of anxiety. They know, they have to face the same.

The survey also revealed that 19 percent of participants who had experienced depression had used a job to escape from anxiety and stress. That is, they've accepted that escaping from work causes anxiety, stress and that the best way to escape from work is by applying for a job. That's understandable, but only after they have removed the main causes of anxiety and stress. They have to remove the main cause of their depression in order to control anxiety and stress.

Employees don't get jobs because they enjoy work; they get jobs because they have to have a job. If they enjoy their work, they won't have to apply for a job. They will be able to avoid anxiety and stress by not being stressed about jobs.
