Damned by the society for being different
When they were the ones who said
“Be who you are and who you wanted to be”
Yet they stared at you with disdain
As if your mere existence
Is an abomination that should have never happened
In this world.
Sized you up
By the clothes you wore
And the amount of penny in your pocket
A downcast, belittling you as if
They were all high and mighty
And the word “mistake” is not on their vocabulary.
They wouldn’t know
You are the one who’s not afraid
For being you, just you
And you do, you stand out
You are the one who’s brave enough
To be different, when everyone
Is all the same.
Don’t you know?
They were the ones who’s petrified
Traversing the path they don’t have
The slightest idea on what’s waiting
At the end of the line
Yet you, look at you
Leisurely walking on it
Like you freaking own it, and yes
You own it…for you are the one
Who made it!
A ragged stone, no more than a rock
They thought of no value
These fool, they wouldn’t know
You are a treasure yet to be discovered.
A gem still haven’t defined
Because all that glitters is not gold
Sometimes there’s you
A beacon of light shining in your own way
Dazzling the crowd
With the lights
Only you could provide
For you are unique
A one of a kind.
