The old much-beaten track

I should have taken the path untrod

As I have always done.


Every single step I took

Brought more pain to me than joy

The consequence of becoming one of the herd

Forever to be endured.


If ever again that choice is mine

Believe me when I say

The old much-beaten track they follow

Is not the one for me.
