My Mother’s Boyfriends: Preface

I never thought that I’d be writing something like this. I’m from one of the most orthodox and obscenely rich families of India, where the girls are not allowed to learn singing and dancing, because apparently; they are born to be entertained, not to entertain others. Yet here’s a rebel, writing to the world about another rebel who was her mother.

Despite my Pops being almost as orthodox as the other elders, I’ve always been close to him, chose to adopt his ethics as a template before modifying them with my personal mistakes and experiences. By now, I think you can guess that “extra marital affair” was a blasphemy to me.

But this was before I'd to live with my mother for 6 months and realise the reasons behind her actions.

Later diagnosed as a patient of Manic Depressive Psychosis, my mother had 8 boyfriends and 17 affairs in span of three years. I myself am not very knowledged about the affairs, but yes, each of her boyfriends were a piece of work. This is not my personal opinion; you’ll think the same if you continue reading.

The story you’re about to hear may sound like a screenplay, but as someone had once said: “Truth is stranger than fiction.”

The title’s shocking, I know. There’s some thing more shocking than that.

This story doesn’t have an ending, because the man who killed my mom is still breating fresh air and polluting the earth.

This is not a murder mystery, neither hyperbolic pornography, nor a love story or one of hate. This is a real life incident, so you’ll be hearing everything from my perspective, which you might find biased and I won’t blame you for that. This story is about laughter and tears, trust and betrayal, but mostly about a fifteen year od girl who became too old too quickly.

I get the fact that you are, at the very least; confused by this blabbering. Don’t worry, I’ll follow the traditional way:

“Start from the beginning and go on till the end”

Put your seat-belts on, we’re in for a rough flight.

Readers out there, please let me know whether you want to continue  reading and your compliments and criticisms are most welcome, as your recommendations are.
