Financial figures show that the video game industry has taken a hit as the recession effected every other industry of the United States economic markets and it will take a couple of years for video game sales to return to where they once were prior to the start of the recession. Guitar Hero 5: In the latest edition of the popular music simulation video game, players will be able to configure their band members, instruments, and more while playing the game on the fly. The band will include lead vocals, the drums, lead guitar and bass guitar. There will be 85 songs by 83 different artists in the new game. Playable avatars in this version include Johnny Cash, Carlos Santana, Shirley Manson, Kurt Cobain and Matthew Bellamy. The game will be released for Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3.
NBA 2K10: Draft Combine: The latest installation of the NBA 2K series features what it is like to be an NBA hopeful. The player of the game can create their own player and then will have to compete in head to head and 5-on-5 drills when playing the game. This game will be released on PlayStation 3.
Section 8: This game is a futuristic game chronicling the missions of an elite interstellar infantry squad as they battle through Earth's frontier colonies. The game is scheduled for release on September 1, 2009 for the PC and Xbox 360.
