Scene: Interview of Amaira, writer of One day Boyfriend, by Kashika, a tv host.

Hey!  Amaira. Congratulations on your book One day boyfriend, It is awesome. How are you celebrating success? And clear the rumours whether it is a fictional or nonfictional love story.

Thank you for liking my book. I am grateful that my book is given a warm hug from my readers. Well on the rumour of whether it is fictional or nonfictional, it is fictional work but if my writing made you feel it be nonfictional then I am humbly proud of myself.

 You should be proud. Every line is so real and the characters are imperfectly perfect, how you thought of creating modern world slogan one day boyfriend while having conservative characters sketch?

That's the beauty of writing and the characters are conservative on outside but not by nature. Akki accepted one-day boyfriend task for making love to Amy not for falling in love with her. Amy showcases herself as a deeply driven girl by family values to the public but deep inside she wanted to love Akki once before she wears the perfect leader mask.  

How did you think that this incomplete love story will be accepted by your readers?

I feel it is a complete love story. The love of one day changed the lives of lead characters forever and they have fallen in love with themselves. Through an imperfect love story, I want to drive that self-love remains forever, which I think I did.

That's impressive work Amaira. What's your favourite scene of the love story?

The scene Amy says "Don't fuck me, make love to me" and Akki replies "Okay, as you say, then promise yourself that you will not fall in love with me''. Their eyes get locked and they end up cuddling each other all night, feeling the sense of being alive in each other arms. Akki understood her need is loneliness, not sex. Amy understood she will fall for him once she loses her virginity to him.

That was a touching moment indeed. Akhil and Amaira face internal conflict due to which they portray themselves with perfect masks. Do you think this is happening in the current world? And how do you think the problem can be solved?

Yes, it does happen, everyone faces it at a different time of their life. It is now part of life but in the story, the compromise is done but they decided to live once before they do the ideal right. Internal conflict is common as multitasking needs the capacity of wearing different hats. But I believe when the conflict is between what you want and what is right to do, the priorities position is subjective.

Are you on any dating apps Amaira? As your lead characters met through Tinder, Should I take it as a real-life inspired scene?

No Kashika, I have my man since my  teenage, touchwood, the relationship has been great. Specifically about mentioning of Tinder is to create a relatable factor and to make my sponsor happy (lol). I have heard many tinder stories from friends and colleagues. I felt it's cool and easy to meet someone of your interest.
The characters in the book are at a different phase of life so, I felt the easy and random way to meet them up is Tinder.

That's cool Amaira. What is your favourite line in the book?

When Amy says
"Thank you for not fucking me. 
Thank you for cuddling me as a boyfriend for a night.
Thank you for caring for me as a boyfriend for a day.
Thank you for being my One-day boyfriend. Thank you!"

Yeah! The lines are heartfelt. Are you thinking of writing a second part to the story?

Maybe, I want to show the one side love story of Akki. The book is mostly driven by emotions of Amy, so I want to put more light on his success after the chapter of Amy in his life.

You ended the story showing Amy forgets her diary on her desk and next day Akki reads it and says "I love you too and I will miss too. I know you have to go. I will let you go."  Do you ever think of giving a happy ending, unlike the tragedy one which has been the new common?

I really appreciate the happy ending, but my idea was to drive a realistic love story and talking about tragedy, it is common in love story books not because it has filled up publishers pocket well, but because it captures the reality of a common person life.

Absolutely! Thank you for wishes lady! Can I ask what is your favourite scene of my book?

I am a rom-com person. I love the scene they fight over the flavour of the condom over messages, before one-night-stand which later turns out to a one night cuddle in your book. Never read something like that in novels, felt it was so funny and real.

Amy: oh yeah! Meet at the orange at 7
Akki: U like orange? I love it too! Great then I will bring the orange flavour. Should I bring strawberry too?
Amy: Duffer! It is "The Orange", the name of the bar. Btw get chocolate and vanilla flavour
Akki: I am not asking your favourite ice-cream flavours, babe!
Amy: Even I am not asking your favourite fruits babe!
Amy: I am not making a fruit salad or custard tonight!
Akki: oh really! Even I am not hoping to eat one. Then should I get choco chips too?  l will make your favourite Chocolate shake with Vanilla ice-cream with choco chips on the top.
Amy: Sounds so cool! I don't mind dude. Btw glad to hear that you remember my favourite so clearly!! Then you should know that chocolate is my favourite.
Akki: Lol! I can't believe we are arguing over this??
Amy: Lamo! Yeah.
Akki: Okay my lady! Let me satisfy you tonight! and add on, your chocolate ice-cream is on way! Ready to choose your shade in my fifty shades of grey!
Amy: Sounds interesting. Chocolate it is then!
Akki: Yup! Be on time. Don't make me wait more!
