Some degrees are in very specific fields with smaller available job pools while others are very broad and applicable to several industries.
The following is a list of commonly available degree programs in psychology:
General Psychology
Clinical Psychology
Health Psychology
Counseling Psychology
Education Psychology
Sports Psychology
Organizational Psychology
The descriptions and applications of these degree programs can be found on the websites of the institutions that offer them. The focus of the programs will vary slightly from college to college. Therefore, anyone ho is considering enrolling in one of these programs should carefully examine the course work and requirements necessary for the degree.
Due diligence is essential when choosing an online degree program. Some programs do not have proper accreditation and a degree from one of these programs will not be considered valid by employers. Also, there is almost no chance of having tuition refunded from a non-accredited institution. It is the responsibility of the student to verify the accreditation of any program in which they enroll.
There are several ways in which to investigate the accreditation status of any online or offline program. The U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation are excellent resources and list information on every accredited institution in the United States.
