"Your God is stupid, mine is perfect."
This. This line breaks the whole nation. It destroys the faith of some of the believers and it pollutes the mind of young people.
This line? It came from the current father of our nation. It came from the president—President Duterte.
On the first place, we know that Duterte didn't have any religions. He even admit on the day of his SONA that he didn't and won't believe in any of the religions because he had a painful past with the Catholic church before. That makes him hate the Catholic priests. As we see in the news, he always question them with their ideas against him.
But, despite of having a painful past and an instant nemesis, no one should question or mocked the name of God. Even though you hate those people, if you are telling it to a religious people who believe in the same God as most of the people in your country, you're doing wrong in your life.
The "God" whom Duterte called as stupid is the same God I'm worshipping right now. Even though Catholics and I have different religion, Duterte should consider the rights of a person believing in God and it should be respected. No matter whose God they are worshipping, all of us need to be respected. Keyword: RESPECT
