PALE GIRL
The pale girl ran bare footed over thorny ground, breathing hard between frantic heartbeats. The sting of the thorns, jabbed her feet with every crunching step but she was oblivious to the bloody pain with no idea where she was heading.
She could barely see the silver path, lit by the slither of a moon. Blinded, she stumbled on a big, cut-off tree. She rolled over; withered leaves stuck on her when she tried to get up.
The howling of unseen predators and the buzzing of the bees didn't scare her. She was more scared of him. She shivered from the thoughts of him; cold chills ran down her spine.
Bruised and wounded, she was losing hope. She was silently praying for someone to save her.
She saw a flickering light a few meters away from her. She ran as fast she could. She gasped for air. Fireflies were flying right before her eyes. She was dazzled. She forgot that she needed to run away.
The insects looked like million stars hovering on the ground. In a snap, they disappeared. All she could hear was the eerie sound of the wind.
She blinked her eyes in confusion. She was standing in front of a big, rundown castle. Her instinct told her to run away, but she found herself walking forward.
It was dark inside. Then suddenly, all the lights turned on. She was stunned. She wanted to scream, but no words would come out.
There he was, standing in the middle of the hall smiling devilishly at her.
