My head hits the pillow
My eyes stick to the ceiling above
But my mind-
Flies to everywhere
In my paper planes.
In the middle of night
No sleep, however tight
Oh! These paper planes feel so right
They take me to places
I wanna be
Where the world
Can't see me
In middle of the night
No soul, no matter where
Oh! My paper planes
Take me to everywhere
And I fuel fantasies
To get away from reality-
A thing so obscure yet so familiar
And my planes
Pick me up
From the land of Hypocrisy
that's drowning in the parenthetical sea
From a place so alien
They save me from the world
that's constantly trying
to have me prodigal
They take me to their land
and yes I know it's hypothetical
But it's the only place
Where I sing my own song
Speak my own words
and write my own story
With no one to judge
But then the bloody sun
rises up again
Crashing all my paper planes
Tears fall down my cheeks
As I see
them lying there
Each one of them tamed
Oh! I Should've known
They were just paper planes
My dear paper planes.
