I'd rather be called mean,
than be pretentious.
I'd rather be straightforward,
than hide from a mask.
I'd rather be misunderstood,
than be the one who always need to be understood.
I'd rather be with people who know me when I'm being sarcastic or genuine,
than the one who makes people walk on egg shells by just being with me.
I'd rather close doors to people who think the world is on their shoulders,
when in fact, the people around them are the ones suffering.
I'd rather be myself - with all the twists and turns,
than pretend to be someone else and is in dire need of attention.
Sure, advertise how you think people are rude, mean, and insensitive toward you
But, try to see how traumatic your actions are - selfish, self-centered, too sensitive yet insensitive of others, attention-seeker, pretentious, self-righteous, fragile,
And the list could go one, but you still won't get it.
Hence, I'd rather.
