Rachel was sleeping peacefully on a Sunday morning..when suddenly the doorbell rang..it was her boyfriend...Gretchen opened the door and asked him to wait outside..as Rachel was asleep..so when Gretchen went in, she saw that Rachel’s room was in an absolute mess..she saw that all her clothes were on the floor, her heels were up on the chair and the room stinks badly of alcohol..she then woke up Rachel, just then Gretchen saw that Rachel herself was a mess, she had dirty, unkempt bed-hair..sloppy clothes(her bottoms had a hole in it) and the mascara and lipstick she had on last night was completely smeared all over her face(the negatives of no removing makeup on time)..just then, Gretchen yelled at Rachel that Gary, her boyfriend was waiting for her.
Rachel startled herself out of bed and started freaking out like a headless chicken..she was extremely hungover and now she doesn't know how to handle her boyfriend as he thinks that Rachel was working last night..while she was out drinking with her girlfriends..she never wanted Gary to find out that she lied last night to have a little girl time with her best friends...Rachel thought that Gary would feel bad that she wanted some time away from him. Now, he is outside and he will understand everything by glancing at Rachel at once.
So, Rachel asked Gretchen a favor, she asked Gretchen to stall and engage Gary till the time she cleans up herself as well as the room..to which Gretchen reluctantly agreed as she was not only Rachel's roommate, she was her best friend too.
So, Gretchen started talking to Gary about his childhood, life, his school, etc..in fact, they even bonded over the types of movies they like and they even discussed Rachel’s bad habits(both of them knew Rachel pretty well ) whereas Rachel was cleaning up, then she came out looking like a dream..her hair was straight and silky and smooth and she had removed makeup from makeup removing wipes and she ate mints and sprayed perfume all over herself so that the stench of alcohol does not reach Gary. Gary even complimented Rachel that she looks beautiful even when she wakes up from her sleep. He was just happy to see Rachel well-rested and relaxed(while she had a pounding headache from the hangover)
Gary obviously could not crack the code(ha, men right?) and considered that Rachel was actually working till late last night..so he spent some time with Rachel, had breakfast, and made his way out of the home as he had errands to run..just when Gary stepped out, Gretchen could not hold in and asked that how could Rachel clean up in such a short span and that too, so effortlessly..to which Rachel said that she did the same thing when she was living at her parent’s house..cleaning the room in a jiffy was something she was a pro at..and she came out looking pretty well done and good because of the hair straightener she bought recently..it was a cheap hair straightener but effective and made hair so smooth and shiny. She had got it off of the internet and it was one of the best and wisest decisions ever.
Gretchen was so happy that Rachel had already purchased one because she was planning on buying one herself and now since Rachel had already purchased it, she could use it any time she wanted...after all, whatever Rachel owned was hers too, and well, vice versa too. Since then, both the girls were sharing the hair straightener and even had great reviews about it.
