Dandruff and hair fall is a very common problem among several people. 1 out of 5 in every people suffers from dandruff and hair fall. It leads to frustration and embarrassment and leads to isolation from social life.

Technically, dandruff is a condition of hair scalp which causes skin flaking and leads to itchiness. So every time that person will find scratching his hair scalp. We don’t know the exact cause to this but there are some common reasons apart from poor hygiene and health. Let us look at them.

7 possible factors which are responsible for dandruffs and hair fall:-

Suffering from Seborrheic dermatitis:-

This is a very poor disease. It is connected with a fungus which lives on hair scalp and feeds on the oils that hair folliciles secrete. In some people it is over active. It can cause irritation on oily skin and dandruff. It affects many skin areas such as back of the ears, the breastbone, eyebrows and sides of the nose. 

Suffering from Dry Skin:–

People who are suffering from dry skin are more likely to have dandruffs. This is because when cold air combines with overheated environment then it causes itchy and flaky skin. These kinds of dandruffs have smaller and non oily flakes. 

Several skin conditions:–

People having previous several skin conditions can get easily affected by dandruffs and hair falls. Some of these conditions are psoriasis, eczema and other skin disorders. This is because there is a fungal responsible for these skin conditions. It is known as tinea capitis, which also known as scalp ringworm and causes dandruff.

Having Poor diet:-

Diet containing less amount of zinc, vitamin B and other fatty acids increases the risk of dandruff and hair fall. 

Some other medical conditions:-

People who are suffering from Parkinson’s disease and some other neurological illness leads to dandruff. According to a study, between 30 and 83 percent of people with HIV have seborrheic dermatitis, compared with 3 to 5 percent in the general population.

Also people who has weak immune system due to heart attack or stroke can easily gets affected by dandruff and hair fall.

Insufficient hair brushing:–

Regular combing and brushing of air reduces the risk of dandruffs. This is because it remove the dirt and impurities which aids in normal shedding of skin. 

Suffering from yeast:–

People who are suffering from yeast has a little chance of getting affected by dandruff and hair fall. in summers people suffers less from dandruff and hair fall as compared to winters. This is because ultraviolet rays of sun kills yeast present in hair.

Remedies to reduce dandruff and hair fall:–

These remedies will help to stop the dandruff by slowing down the reproduction of skin cells or counteracting the yeast production that might be the cause. 

Avoid eating carbohydrates and sugars:–

Main reason is yeast which causes dandruff feeds on glycogen which increases by eating high carbohydrates foods. So change your diet. According to Dr. Macrene Alexiades-Armenakas, a New York–based dermatologist, poor nutrition can lead to dandruff. “High-carbohydrates foods can result in the buildup of glycogen in the skin, which yeast feeds on.” She suggests you avoid carbohydrates and sugars if you’re prone to dandruff.

Drinking more water:-

Water is one of the key elements of body. About 70 percent of body consists water. Drinking lots of water can help in hydration of scalp.

Use a special shampoo:-

There are lots of ayurvedic shampoos and conditioners available which helps in reducing dandruff and hair fall permanently such as Bio Neem Margosa Anti Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner. Wash your hair several times:–

Due to infrequent hair washing oils and dead skin cells accumulates. So people who are suffering from dandruffs and hair fall should regularly wash their hairs several times in a week to reduce them. 

Scalp exfoliation:–

Scalp exfoliation helps in removing dead skin cells by killing them with either salicyclic acid or granules which gets dissolved, are present in several products. These chemicals breaks down the dead skin cells which accumulates in scalp and leads to flaking of scalp.

Use Apple cider vinegar:–

There is a germ called as bottle bacilius responsible for many scalp and hair conditions including dandruff, itching scalp, thinning hair and baldness. This is because this germ clogs the pores which doesn’t let enter natural oils into our scalp. Then oil starved hairs either breaks down or fall off. This is where apple cider vinegar plays an important role.

ACV is full of nutrients and stimulates hair oil for growth. In order to use it apply apple cider vinegar after washing hair from shampoo. Rub it gently and leave for 5 – 7 minutes and then wash thoroughly. You can also drink apple cider vinegar with juices. It has lots of health benefits and purifies the blood.

Try to wash hair scalp:–

This is very important. If you wash your hair only by avoiding scalp then only limited visible dirts and impurities will remove, pores will not be opened and impurities will not be removed from the scalps which will lead to clogging of pores. So it is very crucial that you wash your hair to the roots of hair on scalp then only you will get the benefits and able to reduce dandruff and hair fall permanently.

Try using hot oil:–

There is a concept which says that like substances attract each other. So if you are using lukewarm oil on scalp then it will remove excessive oil containing dirts and impurities which will ultimately prevents from dandruff and hair fall. It is said that oil based treatments can help to balance some of scalp’s excessive oil production. 

Try not to scratch your scalp:–

Dandruff and hair loss causes itchiness in scalp and due to this people tend to scratch their scalp more often. This is ok and able to understand. But scratching frequently your scalp can cause inflammation and irritation and it might be possible that it spread to your nails which can lead to severe infections and scalp wounds and these same infections will then cause hair fall and dandruff. So instead of scratching your scalp you can massage your scalp gently to prevent yourself from getting affected to dandruff and hair fall. You will feel relieved after some time.
