"For my part I know nothing with any certainty but the sight of the stars makes me dream."
This was the quote you used when everyone was asked to give their introduction in that art class. It was spring break, and I didn't wanted to return back home so I opted for art classes, not because I was interested in it but just to be occupied with something and art classes seems to be the best option to fancy myself and also I had my good share of sketching talent, which I never gave too much impetus upon.
When my turn came, I got totally blank and said " Hi my name is Sam and I sketch." And that is it, I was done with one sentence introduction while other wrote a biography on it. Maybe I was too stunned by your quote and with the conviction you said it and ofcourse how can I forget your greenish blue eyes which were grooling me after my abrupt intro.
Few days went by and I attended the classes not because it seemed interesting but because I didn't want to lose the chance of watching you draw your masterpiece everyday. I won't lie I secretly sketched it. That sketch book is still kept safely in the trunk with my other prized possessions. One fine day, while I was going for the classes I heard a voice coming from back yelling my name, it sounded familiar, and as I turned back it was you, I saw you running like an athlete in a marathon yelling my name, trust me I was embarrassed as well as shocked at that moment.
"Do you have a hearing problem? I have been screaming my lungs out."
"Sorry I had my earphones on."
You gave me a disappointed look, and said, " I guess this belongs to you." While handing me my sketch pad, not the one where I drew sketches of you but where I drew other things.
"You left it in the class."
"Oh thankyou. I was in a hurry yesterday."
" Those are some pretty good sketches you have there."
" thanks it's not that great as compared to your paintings."
"No, they are really good I mean it. So where did you learn to sketch like that?"
You asked while we head towards the class.
" My mother use to paint. She taught me sketching."
"Wow. Wonderful ! looking at your work I am sure she is a wonderful painter."
"Yeah.", I said while looking at the sketch pad.
"So would you like to go for a coffee or something after the class. I would love to see more of your sketches."
I didn't know what to say at the moment, imagine there was this girl I liked and she was asking me to go for coffee, what should I say?, that thought took me whole of 60 seconds to say "Yeah, sure."
"Great ! See you after the class then."
"Yeah."
To be continued.....
