Some Coffee Flavoured Stories #7

"Kritika Ghosh, while you were there observing those coffee flavoured stories silently one story waited so hard for you to observe. But the adamant you won't turn your eyes towards it, just like you did since so long. Never did you try to listen to the tale which that heart spoke to you too, even now all you listen to are those unknown stories in a cafe shop but what about the story next to you?"

I remained numb. He went on,

"I came that day too Ms Ghosh, but I guess you were too punctual. I was late by 10 minutes and that was the very moment when I lost you. The last day of college you never showed up after the party out with friends and I thought you were never ever interested in me" he said.

"Deb"

"Sshh...it's time to listen to a story rather than tell yours. I waited there outside with a vague hope that got parched with patience still residing in me. You never showed up, I don't even know if you received my letter in which I asked your best friend to deliver it to you. A year passed by till I left Kolkata and went London. I came to know that there is someone else in your life. I was shattered at that moment when Naina happened to me"

"Letter? Deb"

"Yes I know you never received it, that's what you call friendship? I am sorry to say your best friend stood like a piece of rock in our story which would have started a long back by now, but thanks to destiny, it was bound to happen this way and here we meet again Kritika Ghosh"

He ended as he sank down. A shimmer of tear escaped his eye as I knelt down in front of him. I took a notice of him, he faced downwards like every story was spoken and there was just the epilogue where the readers are expecting a happy end.

"I...am sorry"

He didn't speak a word this time.

"I know I am at fault. It was all my fault that I didn't wait that day, maybe things would have been so different if I would have kept patience for at least 10 minutes" I said.

Silence encapsulated us as I sank down in tears. I was guilty of leaving my own story in trashes while I wandered around completing others. I was guilty of the fact that things could have been much better but all thanks to my stupidity, it turned out to be a dirty mess.

"I am sorry, please forgive me if you can"

I stood up to leave when he held my hand and stood up. I stopped there without turning back when he spoke out loud enough to make my frozen beats start beating again.

"Again you are daring enough to leave this story incomplete hmm? Not fair Ms Ghosh"

I turned to face him. A glint of a happy smile adored his face while he pulls me closer in his arms as he pecked my cheeks and says,

"Let's have a lovely beginning of this coffee flavoured tale all over a cup of coffee"

I smiled while his lips met mine, sealing them in serene love like forever.

-THE END-
