Someday, we'll cuddle in a cool, dim room under the sheets; knotted -- twining with each other, keeping a small warmth. We'll sleep as rain falls on the glass and still air is pushed through the room by blades that hum. The sounds of the night melting together, a melody, a lullaby of sleep, for us. Just us.
Only us.
Someday, the blankets will know our scents and secrets they will never betray. Knit socks couldn't hug us tighter than our arms hold each other. Pillows kiss our cheeks, blushing from our dreams at night. Someday. Someday I will be yours, and you will be mine... But for now I will be content with my continent-bed and cold blankets, with only dreams of you to warm me at night.
