Springtime in My Heart

With blitheness, my Heart was filled,

Singing thy song with over mirth.

As I gaze and gaze upon the open field,

My life would soon be no dearth.

Alas! Spring is 'bout to start,

So do bound the end of this travail.

He, for sure, will not let thwart

Me praying 'neath this dainty dale.

Here stand I, looking at the sun glow.

Staring at the grass as they, too, grow.

Rejoicing upon seeing and hearing the birds chirping,

As I feel the warmth of the gentle breeze whiffing.

Leaves now are outrageously bursting,

Whence it came, to tell is so exciting.

Timidly sprouting such a supple creature,

And everywhere I turn, me thinks of a grandeur.

Feeling the soil so tepid upon my icy feet,

Makes my heart grow big as it hammers its beat.

I was and I am too old to grow, I know.

Still, I beg for leaves to grow on my wilted bough.
