He's climbing a stairway of glass, looking for something precious.
The stairway creaks beneath his feet, it cracks.
He doesn't know if the stairs are strong enough for him. He doesn't know if he's strong enough for the stairs.
Up and up he goes, seeking something that's beyond his reach; after all, he's a hopeless romantic.
As he reaches the top of the stairs, he realizes that there's nothing there, except pure darkness.
Confused, he looks down.
Through the transparent glass stairs, he finally sees what he's looking for, at the base of the stairway.
The stairway was transparent. His mind was blurry.
He panics.
But it's too late.
The magnificent glass stairway crashes down, as the broken pieces refract the rays of hope into a monochromatic rainbow.
Reality crashes down on him.
He crashes down on reality.
As he falls, bits of broken glass tear through his heart like a pack of wolves hunting down a calf.
He's lying down on a bed of broken glass, trying to put back the shattered pieces of his broken heart.
But it's too late.
