‘THE SOMEONE’
She was serene. And as her hands dived into the air, she left everybody’s eyes wide opened, gazing at her stunning notions, fitting in into the realms of reality and away from the awkward tranquility of the war. She stood up on her toes, thanked the people for the strange earnestness and patience that had poured in into the figures and listened to the luminous approbation of the huge audience. Allies and anti-s together. It was something much more than mere ecstasy to her. It was more like her world had had its own remake within the matter of a few seconds. Her world had flipped and so had she. The people rose up started leaving the hall and she could hear the engaging claps run on till eternity. And at the end of the dawn, only one person sat there staring at her beauty and applauding for her relentlessly, all alone. She sensed the spark of insecurity and immense love brewing up inside her. She blinked and he couldn’t move his eyes off her. She observed the mist that her brain had placed up to let her realize that he is not the one, not the one who could give her company till time’s end. She closed her eyes, being unable to believe what fate was asking her to see, what she was ending up at. And as she opened her eyes, the mist lifted along with her lids. And the person? He was nowhere in sight.
The day passed, like the butterfly had passed over the flower. But his moistened eyes, they kept talking to her all her life along, like they used to. Like… ‘The Someone’. It never happened again. Never again. Nobody could replace her ‘The Someone’.
