Those impediments, you say, are caused
By my pathetic stance to revolt against the trivial,
By the terrible lack of patience in me you find,
And by my 'unruliness' and ingratitude.
My impediments? Open your eyes, human
Before some passer-by questions your humanity;
Look through your grandiose mirror and repent,
Look through yourself, repent.
Not to be blamed are you for your pitiful state,
As I look around you, I see shadows;
I see the clones of yourself, lurking the dark,
Ignorant, blissful, corrupt, conceited shadows.
My impediments? Not to be, sir.
It is but your baseless dogma,
Your oblivion to the obvious,
Those are my impediments, cause of my 'unruliness'.
In a peaceful world, a rebel I am, you say;
No sir. I belong to a dying species:
A species which has slept through the ebb.
Not anymore. 'Tis time to rise.
A species ageless, timeless, nameless;
We are part of those dwindling few,
Desperately clinging on to sanity;
The last vestige of sanity.
We have no homes, no allies, nothing,
But the strong ideals that our ancestors took pride in
Long forgotten are our mortal identities;
Alone, in our small worlds, we fight on.
'Tis a sacred war we fight in;
A war much larger than our petty selves,
Much larger than you and your spiteful words,
Much larger than you can comprehend.
And yes, I fight this war 'cause I'm selfish
'Cause it aches me to see the blatant injustice
Each and every single day of my life;
All of it I do for my own sake.
Every day I see my Motherland sinking
Into the jaws of pure evil;
Evil which blots into our lives,
Encumbers our soul till we drown in it.
While you make merry in your lavish palace,
I see the innocent engulfed in fear;
Fear of authorities beyond their comprehension,
Those tortured eye look through me, expressionless.
Yes, all of it I do for my own sake;
Because my heart revolts my existence,
Because my conscience refuses to breathe in this vile air,
Because my eyes refuse to look into those tortured eyes.
Therefore I fight, till the end;
Till my conscience overcomes the will of my breath,
I fight to replenish those eyes with hope
I fight till my mortal shell gives in.
A new dawn approaches,
Not too far, I see it there;
Hopes shall be renewed, a final war shall be waged,
Not too far, I see it there...
