Survival Books: Collect, Read, Practice

If you are an officer of the fire bureau or a member of the national scouting movement, you have a very high chance to survive and overcome possible challenges in times of calamities and emergencies because these organizations surely exposed you to trainings of survival skills. But what if you are neither a fire officer nor a scout? How can you survive when the possible dangers like flood or fire come?

There are organizations and associations that offer training and seminars which will make you learn more about the basic safety precautions and survival skills. But even if you attended those workshops, try to question yourself: “Am I knowledgeable enough to survive?” “Will I really survive?”

However, having those books will not actually save you or your friends. It will not do the CPR nor the first aiding. Most readers think that reading a book of survival is enough and can make you survive already, but actually it is not. This is the reason why organizations and experts are emphasizing the importance of practicing through and in the form of symposiums and seminars. Logically, it is safer to cross the river from a land to the other side, than jumping from land to land. It means, it is better to read, practice and apply when the danger comes than to read then then you will just jump when the calamity arrives. Reading can help you survive, but practicing assures you that you will survive.
