The chase is over

I'll cut the chase.

All this time I've been running around in circles trying to pursue you because I thought I could catch you. But I was too blinded by love and hope that I failed to see the glaring truth that the only reason why I kept on chasing you, was because you have always been running away from me.

It was not love at first sight when we met. We did not talk at first and I was too scared to even start a shy hello. But you were different. You were not like the rest. You have that saddest look in your eyes even when you smile but the sweetest smile even with those saddest eyes. It was something I could not really forget. I tried to ignore it many times. But the harder I try, the stronger it grows. Then one day it finally hit me. I love you.

Yes, I fell inlove with you. And the next thing I knew, I was already chasing you.

I did everything I could, have I not? I tried to show you all the wonders there is to see when you are with me. And I tried to make you believe that there are countless reasons for you to also love me. So I chased you really hard hoping that one day you will feel the same way that I do. But as I was doing all the chase, you had always kept your distance too.

Perhaps, I chased you too soon. And I was so in a hurry that I also failed to see that you were not yet ready. But I wanted you so bad I was willing to defy even gravity just to make you fall for me. But everytime I try to get closer, you only get farther.

So now I must cut the chase. It has been a chase in circles where I could never catch you. You kept your distance well, I can no longer bridge the gap between us. It has been the sweetest chase of my life. And I will never regret doing this to you. I don't regret chasing you. But I must stop.

Because I will never have you.
