The Darker Shade

And that day
When I was flying at cloud nine
I observed the darker shade
Of what you call "love"

It seemed to transform drastically
With that soft pink of your cheeks
Turning to a dark red of your blood
To one shade darker than it,
Which I sensed was something that kills

I observed those emotions turn solid
With tears marking their stains
Leaving you with crumbled pain
That intensifies the more you think over them

You thought this would be magical
But I saw it turn grey
With all that isn't charming yet
But a home to some emotions
That no longer felt well

I saw love turning a shade darker
With everything left on ruins
With abated breaths as you wait
To sink in deep in the turmoil of its death

No longer does it feels the same
The home you built was left messy
With no figments of it left
But just memories to whelve in
