I got into a fight
With my demons
One night.
They came for me
I was just staring at the ceiling fan
When I heard them.
Loud and clear
They dared me to fight them
I shut my eyes tight,
And tried to cry myself to sleep
But the tears fed them.
So, I wept them off
And accepted the challenge
Vigorous and angry
They came for me
But they didn't know
I was the fire
they were the flame of.
All I had to do
To take all of 'em down
Was to use them
And their flame
To burn down what they fed on
And to light up my dark side
Where they resided with pride
They're all gone now,
They don't hold me down anymore
I am a fire without the
demons now,
A fire without a flame
That burns its enemy down
Without any warning.
