The Importance of Taking Lessons in Tennis

If beginners are advised to take group lessons, it is up to them to acquire the collective idea of the game of tennis. But, the more you play the game of tennis, the more relevant it will be to take individual lessons.

The big difference between individual and group classes: the number of balls played and thus the number of repetitions. When we start, we appreciate having more time to integrate the principles taught. On the other hand, the more we advance technically, the less we appreciate having to share his playing time. But do not forget that group lessons are still today, the best way to meet other players of similar level to then continue to play outside the class.

For a group lesson to be successful, you need an optimal number of 6 players. In most European countries, there are no less than 5000 tennis pros who must be at least holder of the state diploma to bring you the right pedagogy and good tennis instruction.

How does the Pro-player relationship work?

The best thing is to communicate! In the pro direction towards the player, this seems obvious for everyone but in the other direction, it is also important for the student to express his or her questions, especially concerning the objectives, means, and content of the student. A good pro must at least make you pass 1 idea to remember per lesson!

Above all, do not forget to stick with your pro, the objectives of your lesson of one hour to get the best performance. Very often, the PROS break down 1 hour of lessons in 3 slices of 20 minutes to work at least 3 aspects of your game. Classically, one often finishes a tennis session by services because generally, the mobility after forty minutes of intensive training begins to fail.

Finally a good PRO will adapt to your level and game of the moment, that is to say, that if one day you struggle to find the rhythm, he can offer you to vary the exercises and adapt through tips, solutions to put you back in the game. It may be an anecdotal aspect, but when you are alone, you do not necessarily have the range of tools available to the pros to understand and solve the problems facing the tennis player. For this reason, the external perspective and the experience of a pro player, more used to the different cases, allow making important progress.
