Dreams...that appeared like they were at the distant land they could not even see them getting closer. Naina and Virat were mere opposites of each other, at the first place they even hated to tolerate each other, but then again when destiny itself conspires to make someone meet what could their wishes do?
Sharing a common dream they finally landed up in Mumbai which was the source for many to fulfill their dreams. Some did turn real while most of them still struggled, a few lost hopes....some lost their lives too but it didn’t matter. People still came there. Just like many others Naina and Virat too came there just to get introduced to each other in the most disgusted way...
“This is my seat will you please move aside” a guy in his late twenties spoke up as Naina who was busy with a book in her hand, earplugs pushed into her ears and her spectacles resting over her nose looked up at him. He looked decent but not his words as she spoke up...
“Excuse me....it my seat as I am already sitting on this chair, find yourself another seat” she smiled and continued reading her book as he snatched it off and spoke up..
“You are strange, I just went to take this bottle and you sat over my chair and arguing over it?” he was irritated...
“So what? This isn’t something you took for rent, it’s a public station anyone can sit here...” she pointed the logic behind her occupying the chair...
“You...you are too much” he fumed with anger as by that time the last metro arrived and they hoped into it amongst the busy people all around them. He saw an empty seat which she occupied once again and passed a tricky smile at him. He was frustrated over her as she sat there and continued enjoying her book. Soon as they dropped at the same station coincidently, it started raining as he took out his umbrella and started walking ahead of her while she just followed getting drenched in rain. She wanted to ask for his help but her ego and the recent introduction with that strange guy made Naina stop. She was heavily drenched in the heavy rain as he stopped and turned to see her almost shivering...
Offering her the umbrella he spoke up...
“Your self esteem wont be hurt if you ask for help in a modest way...” he kept on walking as she ended up smiling at his words..
The rains were soon over and they departed without even getting acquainted with each other. Days passed forming months....months passed into a year and almost forget about the queer introduction with each other. Naina was selected as a leading columnist in one of the magazines while Virat was in a huge mess. His book he asked for publication was rejected , and the contest in which he took part in required a collaborated author who will write along with him.....the winning prize for that contest meant a whole sum cash money and getting published as an author. He wanted to win but in that huge city of dreams he knew none who could help him. He asked for a few people in his locality around, Some of them agreed to write but they weren’t what he required to win it. Depressed over the fact he finally chose the social network as one of the platforms to search for writers...
“I don’t think it will work but lets just try” he said to himself as he was done posting the news....
Two days passed by, there was still no response on it. He checked it every passing moment but no, he couldn’t find any. Finally he gave in. He was about to delete the post when there was a new friend request...
“Naina Roy” the name said but her profile photo consisted of some animated drawing. H checked her details....
“A writer” the short bio said as something changed his mind and accepted her request....
“Hi...” he dropped a message instantly...
“Hello...” she said...
“Uhm....”
“I saw your post two days back....i heard you need a collaborating writer for some contest., is your search over?” she asked directly trying her luck...
“Uhm it just did...” he typed...
“OH oh...so I am late?”
“Not at all....you are on the perfect time...” he said...
“I didn’t get you”
“Do you wish to work with me on this?” he asked...
“I do...” she said...
He was too happy that day, they accepted to work together. They however didn’t knew who they actually were. None of their profiles had their own photographs and they never knew each others names. They finally collaborated it well and submitted their story. The votings were well growing with their popularity increasing.....and finally they won.
“Wow...its an amazing feeling....thank you so much” they talked over phone that day...
“I know its super awesome feeling...” she said...
“I don’t know why but...i think I heard your voice before...” he said...
“Uhm really?”
“Yeah....anyways....can we meet once....i mean we worked together...one whole month but never did we see each other nor we know each other...i think we must at least treat ourselves on our success” he said...
“Uhm...okay cool....so time and place ?”
“Uhm...4 pm...ccd?” he said,
“Cool....i will be there”
“But wait....how will I know you...”
“I will wear uhm...a blue dress” she said...
“Okay and me white tee...blue jeans...”
“Done...”
“Done”
With that they agreed on meeting each other,. She was sharp at 4 pm as she waited there outside and checked the guys passing by... she saw a few of them with the color code decided but none of them was Virat. Finally she saw the same guy from 1 year ago as she was arguing with him over a chair. She waved at him as Virat went near her....
“You? Here? omg...long time no see” she was surprised recognizing him...
“I know....its weird...” he smiled...
“You are alone here?” she asked...
“Oh yeah actually I came to meet someone...and you” he said...
“Same pinch...”
“Let me call her...” he smiled...
“Sure...”
He excused himself a bit as he dialed her number and she answered it at the first go...
“Where are you?” he asked...
“Near the ccd...”
“I cannot locate you...”
“Offo...blue top....and white long skirt....open hairs with umm...yeah a white sling bag...” she explained herself as he took a moment and turned to see her...
She was dressed up in the same way as she explained herself....he smiled as he disconnected the call and walked upto her. She was tensed that he disconnected the call without saying a word...
“The incomplete verses got its meaning under the drizzling thoughts you poured over them, as though they were waiting just to get acquainted with your words to give them the meaning they failed to express when scripted alone....” he spoke up the very first line of the article they worked together as she looked up at him in a quizzical way...
“You.....Virat Ahuja?” she asked...
“Yes Naina Roy...” he smiled at her....
They smiled at each other while their tale finally got its shore....a tale which got its meaning only when they combined to be one....their incomplete verse finally got its meaning....
