The Journey of Lifetime

An undesired journey began,

It was never part of my plan.

Landing me at a place I hate,

Because of games played by my fate.

A free bird was put in a cage,

Alone to deal with all the rage.

Being different came with a pride to be paid,

Hit by words sharper than blade.

Even before it began, the battle was lost.

Little did I know it'd come at this cost.

The cost was paid by my breath,

While I returned touched by death.

Even though I was about to die,

Yet to them it was all a made up lie.

It just does not end here,

I was yet to face my worst fear.

Failing to see ray of hope,

Academics were difficult to cope.

Until that one day,

I saw a positive ray,

I did not give up,

Gathered courage to cheer up.

Soon the free bird in me got a chance to fly,

All thanks to the wonderful butterfly.

With my new found wings,

I set out to try new things.

Failing to understand my curiosity,

I was bestowed upon was animosity.

They called me with abusive name,

Even brought me lot of shame.

With my burning desire to succeed,

I was doing well indeed.

But my happiness was short lived,

Soon to be companion deprived.

My only friend left,

Immense heartache I felt....
