You smiled at me and gave me a gentle squeeze, washing away all my worries and nervousness.
"It's gonna be alright," were the words you cast unto me as you whispered. I just gently nodded and looked at your reassuring smile.
The music started to play, I heard the crowd's whispers started to vanish. The applause of the audience died down. As our body goes with the flow of the music, as the dance goes deeper, the music feels like it's fading, seems like it's walking away from us. But still, our gaze remained locked. As our body goes closer the only thing I heard was the abnormal heartbeats of mine and the addicting sound of your breathing. Together, we danced to the music, our feet in perfect sync with the beating of my heart.
The way you smile and gaze at me as we dance under the moonlight.
Just for now can I be your princess and can you be my knight that illuminates in my darkest hour?
Hey, do you still remembered the first day we met? The time we laughed during Literature Class because we can't spell it right. That's how we began to become friends.
It's kinda hilarious back then how sensitive you were to me and so am I to you. Both of us have a past that can't be revealed so both of us never dared to ask nor question each other. You were so cold to me but that didn't stop me from disturbing you.
I was relieved when I learned that both of us have similarities yet there's a huge gap of difference between us.
Hey, do you have an unspoken question about me back then? Because I do have an unspoken question about you.
Our body is in the tune with the slow music. The way he leads was gentle yet harsh. As if he's not just somebody to be underestimated at. As seconds pass by, the warmth between us grew more intense. The gap between us was starting to close. I'm glad my heartbeat was steadily going along with it. Our dance wasn't so good but it was perfect: the way our body sync as the rhythm of the music beats.
For tonight before the song comes to an end, can we pretend that we're the only people on the dance floor but don't worry after that you can return to her arms and forget I even exist?
I am aware that I kept you for too long, all by myself. I'm sorry for being selfish and locking you away far from her, from the person you wanted the most.
The moonlight reflect on us as I allowed him to take me in different directions. I adapt quickly to changes in direction, allowing him to take command, and trusting him explicitly with my safety and well-being on the dance floor.
Savoring the moments, savoring your melting gaze, savoring the sensation of your touch, and savoring the movement of the steps.
At that moment I came to realize the song was about to end. The music was about finished. I found myself wishing that time will allow me to extend the time when I'm with you. I don't want the song to end. I began wishing that may a wizard fall from one of the stars and cast a spell on the song.
I knew that when this dance ends my fairy tale with you will disappear. When the song ends I won't have a choice but to let go of these gentle hands of yours.
Before this song ended I hoped you saw right through my eyes how much you really meant to me. Before our hands parted ways I hoped that my unspoken words would reach your unattainable heart.
When the song ended the audiences’ applause filled our ears. The last dance of ours came to an end. Because of that dance, I was able to realize that I have no choice but to let you go after all you have someone waiting for you in the corner. As the spotlight that focused on us turned off, and when you turned your back and walked away. I silently cried as I stayed.
