The Love I Keep Asking

You told me you love me

But where is that love now?

Gone missing and never been found

You told me I'm the only one

But who is that you're seeing now?

A new profound love to replace mine?

You promised me a life full of bed of roses

But what's only left were prickly thorns wilted and dead

Is that what it supposed to be?

You promised me a forever

But it only ended up with a big never

Are promises really meant to be broken?

You said till death do us part

But why is it you left me with a broken heart?

Am I really not enough?

You said love could conquer all

But why is that ours so fragile it crumbled on it's own?

Was that also a lie all along?

You taught me love is everything

But what did I get?

Only pain and crying

Is that what my worth for?

You taught me the kindness of a loving heart

But then again it just purely lies

Is there anything true on all you have said?

Love indeed is blind but I am blinder

For with still open eyes I can't see

All the thread of lies and deceit

Or perhaps it was only me

Choosing not to believe

What's already in front of me

Maybe this love was not bound for me

So I now open this clutched hands

And like a butterfly, I set you free

Farewell love

Perhaps we're just not meant to be
