The NeverNeverLand

Info

"No! Please don't leave me!" he cried. "Get up , Ru! You don't want to miss your sem-end exams!" a feminine voice said. "Please don't leave me! What would I do without you?"

SPLASH!

Rudy woke up with a start, only to find his sister, smirking at him , while her hands gently rested on her hips. "It's 8 already. Go get dressed up, you cannot miss this exam at any cost" she said. "Drop me, will you?" he asked. She left the room, pretending not to hear him.

He knew the woman in his dream, only made him sadder to realize that he would never get to be with the woman he loved in his life, forever. Right now, she was the only thing going in his mind. He just couldn't stop thinking about her. His castle of dreams broke, as she banged his door , suddenly. "Breakfast is on the table. All the best for your exam. I could have dropped you, but something important came up. Reach college on time. Bye." "Sure. Stay safe. Bye. Love you." He never heard her reply to that. She had left, probably.

He reached college late. He was not allowed to write his last exam of his last semester. He was never going to get a job good enough to fulfill his dreams. It was never going to happen. She somehow knew, he thought, as he glanced at her picture on his phone, which was ringing.  "Where are you now?" she said in a very condescending way. He was surprised. He stammered. "Back to home in 15 minutes", she ordered. He could feel the sadness in her voice.

He was thinking about how to apologize her, and reached ten minutes late. Her eyes were blood-red. He knew she was crying for a long time. He opened his mouth to say, but she cut him off. "What took you this long? You know you don't have to apologize for anything, because you haven't done anything", she said stoically. He mouthed a what.

"I broke up with my fiancé today morning. I will be there with you now. I will never leave you. Its okay if you don't get a job with the help of your degree. I can support you financially and emotionally. Concentrate on your music." She smiled.

He stood frozen at his place.

"What are you waiting for? Come let's start off !" She exclaimed. They hugged. She was happy because she had her brother whom she loved the most. She was sad, because the love of her life, failed to understand her responsibilities of being the sole bread-winner in her family. She was glad to have made the right decision.

While holding the woman he loved the most in his arms, the world was not, after-all, a NeverNeverLand. He could have been the happiest man alive, but he was sad because he knew how much she loved that guy. Somewhere deep inside, he was really happy. He had his sister for life. His sister was the center of his universe. And he had his greatest passion to work on, music. What else did he want?
