Religious specialness refers to persons acting out their egos' specialness, but disguising it as religious dress. That usually is available in the proper execution of believing they have um curso em milagres received "special" instructions, "special" favors, or "special" commissions from "special" heavenly persons such as Jesus or the Sacred Spirit, that serves to produce these people spiritually different from the others and therefore more "special" (Few Pick To Listen, p. 141).
What we're contacting "spiritual specialness" looks in the members of virtually all religious or religious movements. That frequently will come in the proper execution of believing that the party or members have now been singled out by God or the Holy Nature to perform some sacred purpose that will benefit mankind and lead towards the preserving of the world. But, such intrinsic specialness is obviously not the case with the teachings of A Class in Miracles (Few Pick To Listen, p. 144).
Specialness can also be noticed in a number of other kinds beyond labels only mentioned. For instance, claiming who we "reveal the stage" with, i.e., other Program teachers is exactly the same limelight error. We do this due to our enormous repressed anxiety and shame; and we get it done rather than understanding and exercising the Course. This can be a class on sameness and one which exemplifies kindness:
That inability to truly exercise A Course in Miracles' kind concepts of forgiveness that they study, and often also train, has probably been probably the most serious declining among their students. This book's sequel, "Several Decide to Listen," discusses how pupils often hide their thought program of specialness beneath the guise of religious counseling or friendship. The absence of easy kindness is, however, beautiful to any or all except the Class scholar creating the spiritual pronouncements (All Are Called, p. 306).
"Arrogance requires the proper execution of believing that one has "mastered" the Class by way of a easy studying or two, without really knowing what is involved in its ongoing examine and regular practice. Humility, on one other hand, tries only to learn, which arises from students' acceptance of how dependent
on their egos they have really created themselves to be. They therefore become grateful for the chance the Program offers them to let it go - eventually and really - of the investment in appearance, self-importance, and specialness, the key of the problem that maintains the separation from God" (Few Choose To Listen, p. 84, underline mine).
