The story of caffeinated bliss

His face always lit up when he saw her, not because she reminded him of himself, but because they shared a precious bond which can never be replicated. Their was an organic connection which stood the test of time. She would reach out at times, cradle his hand in hers, and kiss his fingertips. She liked the way he would cringe slightly, then smile, as if life was just a fleeting encounter of such precious moments.

She would watch him from a distance, his happiness, his sadness, his enthusiasm,, his emptiness, and let them sink in, whilst the beauty of life spilled its light around them, overshadowing the darkness, sweeping it into corners resplendent with pixie dust. 

That pixie dust was what they wished upon at times, he with a sense of the way it would pervade his being and create quiet memories in the places where he ached with his senses - of her, of her light touch, of her ginger-eyed wisdom, of her smart stupidity, of her impulsive kisses, and the way she would touch his forehead.

When we have loved ones close to us, we crave for solace, and when they are not there, we crave for the warmth they provide us; in our heart, in our being. But, sometimes, along the journey, we come along strangers, not the usual ones who speak like we do, but who comfort us, and make home for themselves in our heart. These strangers can melt the hardest of beings, and light the darkest of corners, with their innocence.

Their relationship wasn't one of roses and endless lovey dovey stuff, but there were moments of crisp, raw passion, transcendental moments which were sealed with lips blue with passionate kisses. Their polite jokes, tender touches, and sweet-as-honey exchanges could go down in history as the world's strangest love story.
