The Unfamiliar Road

Every road is long when you walk alone, and travelling through the night is indeed unnerving. The stars' lights are too dim to reach me, and the moon is out of sight. I'll start to wonder if I could rest for the night and travel in the morning instead. But the sunlight brings much more dangers on the road ahead. Better stay hidden when the sky turns light blue. The light has the property of letting you see everything in detail. But there are some things which are better off unseen. That's what I like about darkness. It can mask hideous things into oblivion. Sans beautiful flowers and trees, and sans wild things hiding behind them. Believe me, if you see monsters in full color, you'd end up in my current state. Travelling only when it's dark, when I can ignore black and white beasts behind the forest trees. The forest path is still foreign. I'm still lost. But there's no point in staying put. I've got to keep going. No matter how far my feet will take me, no matter how long it takes, no matter how weary I grow, I would have to keep going. Now the necessity to reach my destination becomes my only driving force. I'll keep on following those funny lights and noisy whispers in the wind. I will walk cautiously, because my feet are always and forever uncomfortable walking on this unfamiliar road. This road that leads to nowhere. But I am bound to tread this lonely pathway. Was it some sort of curse? I haven't the faintest idea. For as long as I can remember, I've been walking, ever alone and weary. I grew accustomed to it, but it remains unfamiliar to me. I am the only one who is like this, though. Other monsters would rather run in circles chasing each other's tails. Playing the game of predator and prey. I am a monster of oblivion's importance. Belonging to nothingness, I make my way to an unknown place. If ever there is such a place for me.
