Those little gestures by the men I met!

Info

Every woman deserves a man who respects her AND Every man deserves a woman who appreciates his efforts.

Lately, there is a huge debate going on regarding women feeling unsafe to step out of their houses. And a lot of credit has been given to the men out there!!

I could not help but scrutinize the men around me. As a working professional, my radar was not limited to my family members. It was a larger pool. There are too many men I have crossed paths with since the time I have joined my job and shifted to a new city.

As I recollect my experiences, here is what I noticed about the men around me:

• I have met men who are just a call away if I am doing a late night shift. I can freely work for as long as I want because I know there are men who will safely escort me back home.

• When we hire a cab and go on trips, I have met men who have been awake the entire time just to make sure that the ride is safe, not to mention their lending shoulders so that I can sleep peacefully when they are watching out!

• I have met men who have allowed me to play Foosball with them, who have taught me how to ride a bike. And, when I have finally learnt, it has been delightful to see their proud faces.

• I have met men who have not judged me when I was eating chocolate smeared all over my face. Rather they have said – You bring the essence of dairy milk chocolate’s advertisement to justice!

• I have met men who have given me a boosting statement before I joined the gym – “It is your body, you can transform it the way you want, but just to let you know, your gaining or losing a few extra pounds won’t change the wonderful person you are.”

• I have met men who have held my hand when I was hesitant to drink my first tequila shot, fearing what if I lose control. They have said – “Drink as much as you want, be as crazy as you can get, spill over if you aren’t able to take it. Just enjoy the experience, you are safe with us. And trust me, they meant it!

I am in no way trying to highlight that that these random men I have met are the real face of the entire male population and all accusations attacking men of our society are baseless. Rather, I somehow wish that these random sample of men becomes the entire population so that each girl feels as safe to step out of her house, as I do! Thanks to all the perfect gentlemen I have met in my life…Men who makes me assured that Chivalry isn’t a thing of the past!
