To the woman who lost her trust:
I wasn't expecting to meet someone like you, but I guess you were expecting to meet someone like me. I suppose you think that I'm just one of those guys who walked up to you and leave you soon after. I suppose you think that I will be like a wind who will pass on you naturally.
When we first met, I can say that you're pretty crazy. We never seem to agree on anything because like you said: "We are so opposite" and that's just fine. Every conversation we had was one step further into learning who you are. And that's just fine.
But let me just say this:
I'm sorry for every promises that I broke. I'm sorry if I was annoying, for breaking our agreements. I'm sorry if I always want to see you, and prove to be an annoyance to you. I'm sorry for going to your place even when it's late at night.
But I'll be here.
I might not be the first person you'll talk to during your darkest days, but I'll be here. I might not be the best of guys, but I'll still be here.
You told me that you're not the kind of girl that I want, and that there are many perfect girls out there. When I said I fell for you, that means I fell for your past as well. You told me that I'd rather not waste my efforts on a woman like you, but you're not the one who's going to decide that. I'll be here.
I'll be here to remind you that being alone has an ending.
To the woman who lost her trust, I want you to know that I'll be here.
A true-to-life story of a rekindled friendship that would soon be lost in time.
82The poem I made when I was a student teacher, as I leave their classroom, one last time.
