1. Costa Martiánez

It may come as a surprise that one of the best attractions in Tenerife is a set of swimming pools, despite the island being surrounded by water, but Costa Martianez is a very popular tourist destination, and it's easy to see why. There are a total of six swimming pools on-site, and some of them have the added benefit of the tide because the facility is located right next to the beach, allowing you to enjoy the sea. the beauty of blue waters as a backdrop.

If you are visiting Costa Martianez with the family, this is not a problem. There are two swimming pools which are specially designed for children, so there is no safety concern here. There are also many bars and restaurants where you can cool off after the pool, as well as showers in which to cool off before eating. If you want to spend the day there, find yourself a lounge chair and start smearing yourself in sunscreen! It's a great day ahead for the whole family.

2. Playa de las Vistas

The town of Los Cristianos has grown little by little to become one of the largest and most popular resorts in Tenerife and offers several beaches for visitors. The main beach in the area is Playa de Los Cristianos although surprisingly this strip of sand is less popular than its neighbor, Playa de Las Vistas. The sand at this beach, which is imported from the Sahara, is a splendid light shade, and is extremely fine, while the water at Playa de las Vistas is relatively shallow, so this is the perfect location. to go swimming, while being an extremely welcoming beach for children, so it is ideal if you come with your family. One of the most impressive features of the beach is that it has plenty of facilities, including sun loungers and umbrellas. There are also sanitary facilities on this beach, as well as an a where you can take a seat for a relaxing drink. If you want to be a little more active than just relaxing on the beach, you can take advantage of the wide range of water sports on offer there. After you've spent some time trying your hand at these activities, enjoy a meal or snack at one of the bars and restaurants along the beach.

3. Roque Cinchado

Roque Cinchado is located in Las Canadas National Park and is one of the park's most important attractions. It is a unique panorama, with its red rock called Cinchado, but you will not be able to take full advantage of the beauty of Cinchado from the road; you have to go much closer. It is only nearby that you can contemplate not only its colors but also its unusual shape, due to the erosion of the rock. It will eventually collapse perfectly.

When you visit you will notice that the rock is permanently guarded by ropes and vigils which - and this is interesting - are not there to protect the rock, but the flowers that grow around it. If there was nothing here to protect them, these splendid flowers would be trampled by visitors. The presence of these flowers and the impressive rock formation allow you to enjoy this place without having to walk very far. There is ample parking space on site.

4. Garachico

In the distant past, Garachico was a bustling trading port. It was filled with sailboats and steamers loaded with bananas, cane sugar, and wine, and it also hosted a shipyard. Mother Nature interrupted all this when the area was devastated by volcanic eruptions in 1706 and lava from the Vólcan Negro, which is part of Teide. The villagers all managed to escape, but the town was never going to revert to the major port it was. This did not prevent Garachico from recovering from this event and turning into a Tenerife attraction full of charm and beauty. Today, the village mixes stately bourgeois houses and picturesque little fisherman's houses decorated with a myriad of different colors.

If you are looking for things to do in Tenerife and don't like crowds, you should add the Garachico tour to your list. While being attractive, it is not a very busy place since it has never been particularly highlighted. You may like to discover in this village fortress Castillo San Miguel, dating from the XVI th century, and the main square, Plaza de la Libertad, which offers a splendid scene to land and relax.
