What it's like to be a Filipino girl who has never traveled far to another place?
I have met a lot of people who have traveled everywhere. Some days you just see them in a picture on Facebook having fun in Hongkong and you're just there staring at it in front of a computer in your home. Some days you just watch a video posted on Instagram of how they eat a huge burger in a famous restaurant in America. Even if they're just on another island in the country, there is always a time where you've felt like it's unfair. Why can't I go there like them? Why can't I experience the things they've experienced?
It's funny to me for feeling envious of someone's happiness but who doesn't feel that way? Looking at a picture of someone you know showing how they've traveled in another country made me feel little. It made me inferior and it doesn't feel good.
But the truth is, my hope of traveling grew bigger and bigger. And I have promised myself I will, too, experience different journeys someday.
I just need to wait.
