Type 2 Diabetes and How it Can Damage Your Body Before Diagnosis

You had no idea you were either pre-diabetic or had type 2 diabetes. For years you just have not felt 'right':

your blood pressure had increased

your HDL (good) cholesterol was low

your triglyceride levels were high

you generally felt fatigued

you had gradually put on weight

your eyesight was a little blurry

your weight had increased considerably from when you were young

All the above we accept as part of the aging process and somehow type 2 diabetes is not usually considered.

Now there are two stages of the type 2 diabetes process:

high insulin levels, and

high blood sugar levels

It's important to remember in type 2 diabetes high insulin levels occur first. When cells become insulin energetic diagnosis resistant high blood sugar levels follow. You may already be aware of the process of high blood sugar level. The most important one is related to small blood vessel diseases and the end results can be:

injured blood vessels in the eyes

small blood vessel damage in the kidneys

neuropathy, degeneration of peripheral nerves, often of the feet

As well there are serious problems associated with high insulin levels. High insulin levels cause another kind of circulation problem to what is known as large blood vessels. Now we are dealing with the heart itself and this can lead to:

strokes, and

heart attacks

This does not have to be the case for you. You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It's not the right diet to lose weight that controls the outcome ... the right approach relies on your mind not your food to lose weight.

Some of the above changes have been occurring for years before your diagnosis. You are the one who is in charge, you can heal yourself and outlive your family and friends who do not have type 2 diabetes.

Imagine how energetic and healthy you can be by making the decision to really care about yourself.
