Vo kaun thi?

I just couldn't sleep that night inspite of the train being clean and comfortable. All other passengers had dozed off. The train stopped at some desolate place. I went to the door to check out the place. It was a small secluded  station, misty, foggy and cold. At some distance I saw the only vendor. I got down. I shouldn't have.

There was something about this place which told me not to walk further but I paid no heed.
I walked on. I shouldn't have.

I reached the vendor and asked for a cup of tea. The vendor looked at me and stared in horror. There was a chill in his expression. I realised he was not looking at me but looking just over my shoulder. In an instance, he turned around and ran away. I turned around. I shouldn't have.

Now it was only the two of us on the station.
I wanted to shout out loud for help. I couldn't.
She smiled a wicked smile. Her long hair had a terrifying look. Her stance was very peculiar. Her eyes were cold. Her stare was ruthless.

My legs were wobbly. My body was trembling. I could do nothing. I feared the worst. She broke the silence, "bhoot-pret se darr lagta hai?", she asked.

I dont know what happened to me but i remember my reply, " Apno se kaisa darr."
And I smiled.

Now she turned around and fled. Thanks to my dentist who had given me a golden tooth. It shone bright. It saved me. Ab samjhe? Vo CON thi.
