Is there a time in your life when you lost hold of something you don't want to lose suddenly? Remembering that time in your life eventually brings back how it felt.
Tormenting.
That is probably how most of you would sum it up.
It feels as if a piece of your whole is missing. You are left with the hope of exchanging chances to alter your fate with something more meaningful to you.
Unfortunately, there are some people or things that you are destined to let go of.
The most difficult part is admitting that something you enjoy is not forever yours. Growing fond of something and then realizing it isn't supposed to be a part of your life is torture.
Imagine spending all of your hard-earned money to build a house, only to have it burn down in the blink of an eye when everything is completed. All you can do now is stare at it as the fire consumes every bit of time, money, effort, and memory you spent and shared in that house.
Leaving behind the memories with that "thing" is akin to attempting to remove a birthmark. You may even reach the point of denying reality and attempting to fit a puzzle that does not fit.
But why do you keep on yearning for something that is not meant to be yours?
Every event occurs for a reason. This may sound cliche, but it makes sense.
The reason something is granted to you for a limited time is to serve as a reminder to wait for what you need rather than what you want. You must remember that God knows what is best for you, and you must have faith in His plans.
If God removes someone you believe you love, it is because He intended to pair you with someone better. If God takes away something valuable to you, it is because that thing may cause you harm. You see, God removes what appears to be good in order to make room for something better.
You just have to let go, and let God.
You never know what the future holds, but one thing is certain: if you believe and have faith in God, the future that awaits you will be something you will be grateful for. You are not an abyss with infinite depth, so you must accept that you must be emptied before you can be filled again.
We lost what we lost, and that's okay. It makes no sense to live with the memory of something or someone who will never return. Keep in mind that what is truly yours will never be taken away from you.
So, let go and let God.
