Lets face it. We simply can't rely on the English weather! You can spend months planning the wedding and it all goes to pot when the heavens open and the rain comes down.
Recently a good friend of my sister's got married. Rosamund and Batch (above) both dressed in Senegal wedding clothes on their wedding day look so fantastic and happy walking in the rain in this photograph taken by my sister.
Their beautiful daughter, Sorda, is dressed in white and the maid of honour, also dressed in a Senegal dress, is holding an Ella Doran umbrella (Sunlight through leaves).
This photo made me think about weddings in the rain and how there are so many beautiful things to help cope with the rain in style.

I really love this wedding photoshoot (above and below) taken in the rain by Del Sol Photography They are just stunning. A quote from Melissa of Del Sol says:
"We always tell our couples who are concerned about mother nature's wild ways - remember that none of these amazing and artful images would have been possible with out a little of mother nature's interference. No use in worrying about something you don't have any control of - instead lets make art out of it".
I love the idea of Melissa's to make art out of the rain. I started to look around for styling ideas, to see who was dong what. This umbrella decoration (below) certainly makes a change from ballons, lanterns or pompoms. Plus, hoprfully if it does rain some lucky people underneath may be covered!
Here, (below) Hostess with the Mostess has tied ornate umbrellas to the outdoor lights.
I love this idea by the stylist: The Little Wedding Helper to create a walkway leading to the church with umbrellas. Then on the way out of the service guest can help themselves to an umbrella to watch the wedding photographs being taken.
The bride can really enjoy finding herself a great umbrella to be photographed holding.

From Craftster: tying umbrella to fairy lights (below), only this time mini cocktail umbrellas, is a great way to have place names over the tables at the reception.
This wedding cake topper (below) from Top Cake Toppers is just perfect for a wedding in the rain.
