What Factors Decide the Choice of Hydraulic Fittings

Hydraulic fittings are used to connect a variety of pipes or tubes to various components. When connecting these components it will create a leak-free system, which allows the flow of hydraulic fluid transmission. These are used to change the ability of the flow direction, split flows, and change the elevation of the pipelines.

What Makes the Hydraulic Fitting More Unique?

There are many varieties of hydraulic fittings are available. This includes,

• Plugs

• Unions

• Crosses

• Elbows

The connecting types of threads are different from others. They are manufactured by the IKER Company having the standards of SAE, NFPA, and ISO, which helps you to confirm the diameter and type of thread are used for this hydraulic fitting.

The connections of these hydraulic fittings are different and are as follows,

• Threaded

• Welding

• Barbed

• Flanged

• Quick disconnect

• Push to connect type

• Staple lock

• Face seal

• Press fit

• Push fit

• 24o flare type

• 37o flare type

These fittings have two different thread types to join together forming a joint. They are having male threads which are having threads on the outside and female threads those are having threads on the inner side.

What Factors Decide the Choice of Hydraulic Fittings?

When selecting the right type of fitting to select for the system, there are some important factors to consider. Those factors are as follows,

• Size of the piping

• Working pressure

• Fitting configuration

• Material of the component

• Vibration

• The flow of the fluid and

• Pricing requirements

There are different types of materials used in the manufacturing of the fitting types. The materials must be the same or similar as the pipe or hose material, which provides efficient protection in sealing. Brass, copper, steel, stainless steel, and even plastic materials are used in the manufacturing of hydraulic fittings.

What are Some of the Common Coupling Types?

Couplings are of two types, permanent or rigid type, and removable or flexible type.

Permanent coupling type uses soldering or brazing in case of connecting steel or copper pipe and uses adhesives to connect PVC pipes. This offers great rigidity in connecting and excellent sealing characters.

Removable or flexible type uses threads that allow them to be screwed or unscrewed in order to connect or disconnect with the pipes. The end of the pipes is fully threaded on both sides and provides excellent sealing while the transmission of high-pressure fluids. This type of pipe couplings are slightly larger than the pipes to be joined and can be cut with the internal threads which act as a removable pipe coupler.

Conclusion

From the above, you can clearly get an idea about the hydraulic fitting types in order to select the correct fitting type for your component need. These are used in various kinds of industries for manufacturing the various parts.
