What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic procedure that uses an almost invisible progressive transparent aligner system to realign the teeth of children and adults. These transparent aligners are custom-made for your teeth to ensure comfort and success of the treatment. Invisalign technology is based on a 3D analysis of your teeth, through the use of radiology by scanner. It is this analysis that will allow your specialist to create your tailor-made aligners, via a treatment plan that he will have previously established.

A little history

Already in 1945, a certain HD Kiesling was talking about a treatment which would use aligners which would move the teeth in a controlled manner over time. Align Technology created this technology 50 years later in 1997 in the United States. It arrived in France in 2001 and is used today all over the world.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses progressive transparent aligners that the patient must change every week with the aim of realigning the teeth. Indeed, these aligners (aligners) are made to measure for your teeth and are designed to follow the evolution of the position of your teeth as the treatment progresses. So every 15 days, a gutter specially designed to suit the patient is to be put in place. Care should be taken to wear the prescribed aligners at least 22 hours a day. On average, the teeth are considered to move 0.2mm every 15 days. Orthodontic treatment with Invisalign can therefore last between 4 months to 2 years.

Concerning the realization of the aligners, they are manufactured by the laboratory from a molding of your teeth made by your practitioner and thanks to the evolving treatment plan Invisalign carried out by this one too. The aligners are essentially made of polycarbonate, a completely bio-compatible material.

Specialist practitioners

Not all orthodontists are qualified to offer Invisalign technology. Indeed, this requires an "Invisalign certification" which is awarded to practitioners who have received the necessary training hours having initiated them to the specific techniques used for the implementation of this treatment tool.

The Magenta dental center has several competent and experienced practitioners in the use of Invisalign technology.
